Kohli sworn in as new Shawnee Township police chief

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The Shawnee Township Board of Trustees selected Sgt. Robert Kohli as the new chief of police Tuesday evening.

According to a Facebook post from the police department, Kohli has long been a member of the Shawnee Township community. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1995 and started as a patrol officer at the department in 2002. He was promoted to sergeant in 2012.

Kohli replaces former Chief Michael Keith, who announced his retirement Monday after 44 years in law enforcement.
