OTTAWA — Lincolnview won the Northwest Conference golf tournament at Country Acres Golf Club. The first-place tournament finish also clinched the overall 2015 conference golf championship for the Lancers.

The Lancers had a team total 324 to defeat tournament runner-up Allen East (357) followed by Paulding (373), Spencerville (392), Crestview (395), Columbus Grove (409), Delphos Jefferson (424) and Ada (537). Bluffton participated and did not receive a team score.

Lincolnview junior Joshah Rager, was the tournament medalist with a 1-under par score of 71. Second place honors went to senior Kayne Richardson of Allen East (81). The third place medalist was Braden Evans of Lincolnview with an 83.

The tournament finish for each school was combined with each’s regular season finish to determine the final standings for the NWC. Lincolnview won both the regular season and tournament, and took first place with 18 points. Allen East took second place in the conference with 16 points. Paulding had the third-place finish with a total of 14 points. The other schools’ order of conference finish was Spencerville (11.5), Crestview (10.5), Columbus Grove (8), Delphos Jefferson (6), Ada (3.5) and Bluffton (2.5)

The NWC also presented its All-Conference Awards. The coaches voted Daryl Dowdy of Lincolnview as Coach of the Year. Rager earned Player of the Year honors for the second straight year by virtue of points earned during each regular season match. Rager was joined on the NWC First Team by Kayne Richardson of Allen East, Aaron Belcher of Bluffton, Mitchell Youngpeter of Spencerville, Parker Frey of Allen East, Connor Lautzenheiser of Crestview and Cade McGarvey of Paulding.

WBL All-Conference

WAPAKONETA — All-league honors were handed out following the WBL championship.

Conner Stykemain of Defiance received Player of the Year honors. Joining him on the first team were Spencer Stubbs (Bath), Britton Hensel (Kenton), Anthony McKee (Kenton), Ian Hastings (Shawnee), Jared Hernandez (Van Wert), Drew Sarno (Elida), Luke Nichols (Kenton), Jacob Good (Shawnee), Tanner Sweede (Wapakoneta), Jake Hollman (St. Marys), Jared Miller (Wapakoneta) and Nick Bruns (Wapakoneta).

Coach of the Year was split between Aaron Patterson (Shawnee), Brad Blue (Kenton) and Mike Vieira (Bath).

Girls Golf

WBL Invitational

HARROD — Wapakoneta won the girls event with a team total of 376 followed by Shawnee (431), Celina (472) and Defiance (497).

Medalist Emily Klopfenstein (87) was joined in the winning effort by Sierra Simmons (89), Kasey Carrico (99) and Erin Owens (101). Megan Spainhower led Shawnee with a 102, and Kelly Stahl had Celina’s low score of 98.

Girls Tennis

WBL Tournament

LIMA — Regular season champ Wapakoneta had all of its singles players (Allie Zofkie, Madison Watt and Kate Henderson) and doubles teams (Cassidy Hughes/Hannah Lee and Madison Schroeder/Makayla Schroeder) advance to Saturday’s semifinals during play at the University of Northwestern Ohio.

Shawnee has two singles players (Sanjana Rajasekaran and Whitney Baxter) and two doubles teams (Rishika Avvari/Meghana Chanamolu and Bree Barker/Abby Stallkamp) still in the title hunt.

Bluffton 3, Ada 2

ADA — Singles player Justine Mitchell and the doubles teams of Sarah Bertka and Brielle Hamilton and Maggie and Lucie Fett won matches for Bluffton. Mackenzie Wills and Meredith Marshall were winners for Ada.

Volleyball

LCC 3, Crestview 1

CONVOY — Mornay McBroom had 14 kills and seven blocks, Natalie Snider had 35 assists, Abby Tabler had 24 digs and Gabby O’Dowd had three aces for Lima Central Catholic. Haley Helm had three aces and 15 kills, Claire Zaleski had three aces, Abigail Bagley had 17 assists and Tianna Rager had 18 digs for Crestview.

Wapakoneta 3, Bath 0

WAPAKONETA — Kasey Helmstetter had 14 kills, Faith Hensley had 30 assists and three aces and Jadyn Nuss had 12 digs for Wapak. Megan Bodicker ahd six kills, seven digs and three aces, Kylee Snoke had seven kills, Amanda Parks had 13 digs and two aces and Abby Cosart had 22 assists, 12 digs and four kills for Bath.

Columbus Grove 3,

COLUMBUS GROVE — Danielle Caudill had six digs, Paige Bellman had six kills, two aces and seven blocks, Carlee McCluer had five kills, Rylee Sybert had 10 assists and three blocks and Jade Clement had seven assists for Columbus Grove.

LIMA — Anna Acklin had three aces, five assists and a block, Sabrina Ciminillo had eight digs, Morgan Callahan had six kills and eight digs for Temple Christian.

Toledo Central Catholic 3,

Lima Senior 0

TOLEDO — Samantha Cousey had five kills, Kierre James had 16 digs and Ragan Williams had 23 assists for Lima Senior.
