Roundup: Ottawa-Glandorf defeats Bryan in boys basketball opener

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf opened its boys high school basketball season with a 70-60 victory Friday night against Bryan.

The host Titans erased a 16-11 first-quarter deficit to take a 32-25 advantage at halftime. O-G’s lead grew to 49-36 at the end of the third period.

Jake Dible (14), Owen Hiegel (14) and Ethan White (13) all scored in double digits for the Titans, who committed four turnovers compared to Bryan’s 21. Each team finished with 25 rebounds.

Bluffton 41, Leipsic 37

BLUFFTON — The host Pirates outscore the Vikings 15-4 in the fourth quarter to earn the victory. Kaleb Jefferson had 16 points and Dakota Bricker and Luke Denecker scored seven each for Bluffton. Tyler Gillespie had 12 points and Reese Mangas scored 11 for Leipsic.

St. Henry 55, Spencerville 25

ST. HENRY — Tyler Schlarman had 16 and Devin Huelskamp scored eight. Ben Dues and Conner Holmes each had six points for Spencerville.

Kalida 52, New Bremen 43

KALIDA — Trevor Lambert had 15 points and Grant Laudick scored nine for the host Wildcats. Avery Powers had 14 points and Grant Hoehne scored eight for the Cardinals.

Arlington 53, Fort Jennings 38

ARLINGTON — Cole Horstman had 14 points and Brandon Wehri scored nine for Fort Jennings.

Fort Recovery 55, St. Marys 45

FORT RECOVERY — Grant Knapke had 16 points, Ryan Braun and Payton Jutte scored 10 each and Trevor Vaughn had nine rebounds for the host Indians.

Ethan Mielke had 11 points and Drew Jacobs scored 10 for the Roughriders.

Ada 53, Ridgemont 35

ADA — Connor Frazier (18), Ethan Swaney (15) and Phillip Coulsen (12) all scored in double digits for the host Bulldogs, who won the rebounds battle 34-17 and committed 14 turnovers compared to Ridgemont’s 11. Frazier also had 11 rebounds. Connor Martino led Ridgemont with 17 points.

Kenton 66, Indian Lake 59

KENTON — Landon Rush (20), Jaron Sharp (19) and Jayden Cornell (12) all scored in double digits for the host Wildcats, who outscored the Lakers 22-17 in the fourth quarter.

Colin Coburn had 26 points and Kale Shoffner scored 12 for Indian Lake.

Paulding 59, Continental 41

PAULDING — The host Panthers outrebounded the Pirates 28-15 and committed 10 turnovers to Continental’s 13. Individual stats were not reported.

Parkway 68, Waynesfield-Goshen 46

WAYNESFIELD — Mason Baxter (20), Nick Hawk (14) and Corey Walls (10) all scored in double digits for the visiting Panthers. Hawk also had eight rebounds. Tanner Hurley had 12 points and eight rebounds and Jaden Maxwell scored 11 for W-G.

Wayne Trace 64, Columbus Grove 55

COLUMBUS GROVE — Logan Malsam had 21 points and Blake Reynolds scored 14 for CG.

Allen East 49, Vanlue 40

VANLUE — Grant Whitley had 19 points and Tyler Clum scored 12 for the visiting Mustangs.
