ELIDA — No. 3 ranked New Knoxville defeated Toledo Christian 49-43 Saturday night in the Division IV girls high school basketball regional final at the Elida Fieldhouse.

Ellie Gabel had 16 points and Carsyn Herschen scored 11 for New Knoxville, which will play No. 10 Cincinnati Country Day, a 54-44 winner against No. 2 Tri-Village, at noon Friday at the University of Dayton Arena.

Division II district

NORFOLK — Tyler Hisey (113 pounds) and Trevor Hisey (120) and pounds won their weight classes for fifth place St. Marys.

Tate Hisey (106) and Garret Donovan (165) also earned a spots at state with third-place finishes for the Roughriders (119 points), who finished behind team champ Buckeye (211). Celina’s Landon Engle (third place, 132) and Jaden King (fourth place, 157), Elida’s Conner Douglass (third place, 150) and Wapakoneta’s Cael Rostorfer (fourth place, 285) also qualified for state.

Division I district

PERRYSBURG — Lima Senior was 30th with five points behind team winner St. Edward (309.5) as Aaron Bowsher (150 pounds) was unable to finish among the top six.

Division II state

COLUMBUS — St. Marys fell 182-162, 211-181, 125-170, 143-160, 192-141 to Napoleon in the semifinals. The Roughriders topped . Mechanicsburg 130-204, 169-134, 197-153, 192-172 in the quarterfinals after qualifying as the fifth seed.

Coldwater’s Jasmine Schulze finished seventh individually with a 582 three-game series. St. Marys’ Emily Pond (557) was 14th and teammate Chloe Gibson (505) finished 32nd.
