Lima Central Catholic

Division: III

Coach: Frank Kill (12th season)

2020-21 overall record: 12-11

2021 postseason finish: Lost 57-52 to Bath in sectional finals.

Returning 2020-21 varsity letter winners: Evan Unruh (Sr.), Meshaud Moore (Sr.), Demarr Foster (Soph.), Billy Bourk (Soph.), Carson Parker (Soph.)

Others that may make varsity roster: Seth Mikesell (Sr.), Ethan Franhouser (Jr.), Payne Cutlip (Jr.), Michael Taflinger (Jr.), Sal Guagenti (Jr.)

Coach’s analysis: With the success of the football team, it is unknown right now how the T-Birds will play. Key injuries to Evan Unruh, Meshaud Moore, Carson Parker and Demarr Foster will determine how the chemistry will be formed. Having five key returners from last year and with some newcomers off the bench, the T-Birds should be very successful. Having the summer to build on gives Coach Kill a lot of confidence by the end of the season the T-Birds should look good. They play very unselfish and share the ball. Coach Kill hopes the transition offense flows and their full court defense can cause problems for opposing teams. Rebounding must be key this year. The size of Moore and Bourk should help around the rim. Losing Rossy Moore to graduation, the T-Birds must find that high energy scorer who can get to the rim. The schedule for the T-Birds will be tougher than ever, but hopefully they will be battle tested for March.
