ST. MARYS — Shawnee improved to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the Western Buckeye League with a 3-0 boys soccer victory Thursday night against St. Marys.

Jake Miller had a goal and an assist, Matteo Fusillo and Anthony Best each had a score, Sam Tenwalde had two assists and Jack Tenwalde made two saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Ottawa-Glandorf 9,

Van Wert 1

VAN WERT — Austin Birkemeier and Isaac Macke each had two goals and O-G’s Brody Karcher, Carson Fuka, Carter Lammers, Jackson Heringhaus and Owen Kidd and Van Wert’s Sam Moonshower each had a single tally.

Lammers and Fuka and teammates Nate Maag, Alex Macke and Jeramy Hermiller each had an assist and Dylan Birkemeier earned the shutout in goal.

Elida 2, Defiance 0

Ethan Thomas had a goal and an assist, Jonathan Flores had a score, Jamir Manley had an assist and Zach Suever got the shutout in goal.

JACKSON CENTER — Alex Arellano had Lima Central Catholic’s goal.

Allison Diller had three goals and two assists, Sami Scoles had two scores, Reagan Mittendorf had a tally and Julia Mehaffie had two saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Lacie Moening, Analei Jackson and Hannah Jones each had a goal and an assist, Jojo Knight had a single tally and Jaleena Howard had an assist for Elida.

DEFIANCE — Elida won 18-25 25-17 25-18 25-20. Kylie Vorhees had seven kills and three blocks and Addisyn Freeman had nine kills and three blocks for Elida.

Several area conference tournaments were postponed due to inclement weather.

The Western Buckeye League will play at 9 a.m. today at Pike Run. The Northwest and Blanchard Valley conferences will start at 8:30 a.m. today at Moose Landing. The Northwest Central Athletic Conference will compete at 9 a.m. Monday at Prairie View and the Three Rivers Athletic Conference got moved to 9 a.m. Wednesday at Stone Ridge.
