Shawnee wins girls tennis doubles event

ROCKFORD — Celina defeated Lima Senior 25-7, 25-8, Elida 25-12, 25-17 and the host Panthers 25-23, 18-25, 25-23 to win Saturday’s Parkway Invitational in girls high school volleyball.

Against Lima Senior, Brooklyn Bourne had five kills, Summer Wilson had five aces and Payton Bertke had 16 assists.

Against Elida, Bourne had seven kills and three aces, Ava Knapke had six kills, Bertke had 21 assists and Summer Wilson had 12 digs.

Against Parkway, Bourne and Evie Holstad each had eight kills, Sarah Giesige had three aces, Bertke had 29 assists and Wilson had 18 digs.

Elida also defeated Lima Senior 25-2, 25-14 and lost 25-18, 25-16 to Pandora-Gilboa.

Lima Senior also fell 2-0 to Hardin Northern.

On the day, Emma Hipsher had four aces, Tiana Spivey had six assists and Matilda Nelson had four kills for Lima Senior.

For Parkway, which defeated Hardin Northern 25-13, 25-12 and Pandora-Gilboa 25-20, 25-17, Gabrielle Stober had 27 kills and 29 assists, Paige Stephenson had 50 assists and Gracyn Temple had 20 digs.

Perry 3, Kenton 2

The Commodores won 18-25, 24-26, 25-18, 25-19, 15-7.

Bryce James had 12 digs, Lexenna Lee had six aces, 20 assists and eight kills and Mary Hoersten had 10 assists and 20 kills for Perry. Sadie Larrabee had eight kills and and five blocks while Macee Heckathorn had six kills and three blocks for Kenton.

Miller City 3,

MILLER CITY — The Wildcats, who had 19 team aces, won 25-8, 25-6, 25-12. Abi Lammers had 14 kills and nine digs, Abi Teders had seven kills and three aces, Lexi Banks had nine kills and seven aces, Samantha DeMuth had three blocks, Grace Pfau had 28 assists, five aces and nine digs and Tess Oedy had 12 digs for Miller City.

Minster 3, Sidney 0

SIDNEY — The Wildcats won 25-17, 25-21, 25-13. Alyssa Niemeyer had six kills and 10 digs, Ava Grieshop had three aces, Jayden Clune had five aces, six assists and 12 digs, Lily Barhorst had three aces, 10 kills and eight digs and Savanah Bergman had three aces for Minster.

MARIA STEIN — Julia Moeller had seven assists, Nora Eckstein had six aces and 15 digs, Reagan Kremer had 11 kills, Nicole Franck had eight kills, Natalie Evers had 20 assists and eight digs and Lydia Eifert had 13 digs for Marion Local.

COLUMBUS GROVE — The Cardinals won 25-13, 25-13, 25-16. Makailey Bermudez three kills, Koryn Halker had four assists, Sage Clement had seven digs and Brynn Fortman had eight digs for Grove. New Bremen’s stats were not reported by deadline.

FAYETTE — The Pirates fell 25-17, 26-24, 25-22. Delaney Bowers had eight kills, six digs and three aces, Annika Bowers had 15 digs, Olivia Logan had 10 assists, Rhaegan Marshall had seven kills, Macie Cordes had four aces and nine digs and Kenna Okuley had seven assists for Continental.

PORT CLINTON — Shawnee won the Coffin-Greer Doubles Tournament with 70 points followed by Ottawa Hills (68), Port Clinton (64), Bowling Green (63), Clyde (41), Norwalk (30) and Fostoria (10).

MAUMEE — Bri Ridenour, Kennedy Jensen and Zoe Best each had two goals and Kamryn Morris and Addison DuGranrut each had a single tally. Natalya Booher and Best each had two saves and Adelay Stover, Ava Schaaf and Kamryn Morris each had a single assist. Kaelan Swallow made two saves to earn the shutout in goal.

COLDWATER — Ava Rosengarten had three goals and an assist, Lexi Heuerman had a score, Taylor Wilhelm had two assists, Hallie Kamphaus had an assist and Liz Otto had 13 saves in earning the shutout in goal.

LIMA — Oliva Stolly had 3-0 Lima Central Catholic’s goal and teammate Anna Wannemacher had nine saves to earn the shutout in goal.

FORT JENNINGS — Fort Jennings’ Hannah Grote, off an Alexandra Maag assist, and Haven Knippen and DSJ’s Kiersten Jackson each had a goal. Fort Jennings’ Maggie Pothast made nine saves and DSJ counterpart Evie Vonderwell had five.

LIMA — Katelyn Castle and Addison Williman had three goals each and Adessa Alvarez had a pair of scores.

Willman also had three assists and Castle, Adessa Alvarez and Emily Brower had one assist each. Emily Karcher made five saves to earn the shutout in goal. Lima Senior goalies Alli Fronzaglia and Ava Sheeter made 14 and 13 saves respectively.
