HAMILTON — The Lima Locos fell 10-3 to the host Joes in Game 1 of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League championship series Thursday night.
The Locos scored first but fell behind 2-1 at the end of the first inning. Lima tied the game in the top of the second only to see Hamilton plate four runs in the bottom half of the inning. Hamilton then added a run in the third. The Locos added a run in the fourth but the Joes then scored twice in the bottom of the inning. Hamilton finished the scoring with a run in the eighth.
Derrick Jackson Jr. had two hits, including a home run, and Trevor Austin had two hits, including a triple, for the Locos.
Game 2 of the best of three series is scheduled for 7:05 Friday night at Lima’s Simmons Field. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at 7:05 Saturday night at Simmons Field. Both games will be broadcast on 1150 AM.
