ARCHERY

Allen County: The Allen County Archers hold 3-D shoots the first Saturday and Sunday of each month through September. It is open to all equipment. They are also holding traditional 3-D shoots on the third Saturday of the month all year long. They are open to all archery equipment. BASEBALL

Bluffton: The Summer Prospect Camp at Bluffton University for those in grades 10 through 12 from 11 a.m. until 5:30p.m. Aug. 15 will include a timed running of the 60, defensive evaluation, batting practice and a simulated game. Campers will also have a period of defensive instruction at their primary position. The duration of the game will depend on the number of pitchers that attend the camp. Each participant will have the opportunity to be evaluated at his primary position and secondary position by availability. Players who indicate pitching as their primary position will be guaranteed to pitch during the simulated game. Players who indicate pitching as a secondary position will be evaluated in a bullpen session (if unable to pitch during the simulated game). In addition to the evaluation from the coaching staff, each hitter will receive average exit velocity and launch angle from Rapsodo. Lima: Registration is underway for a bus trip to a Cincinnati Reds home game against Detroit at 7:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4. The cost is $75, which includes a game ticket, round trip transportation, sandwiches and snacks. All beverages will be $1.50. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. BOWLING

Minster: The first Ernst Apparel Classic will be held at Community Lanes as part of the Pro Bowlers Association Summer Tour Aug. 12-13. Immediately following this tournament will be the 13th annual Bowlerstore.com Classic at Plamor Lanes in Coldwater from Aug. 13-15. On Aug. 10, the Youth and Adult Pro-Ams will be held. The Youth will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the Adult Pro-Am will begin at 7 p.m. There are still spots available to bowl with the Pros. Qualifying rounds of eight games will be at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 11th. Round robin match play of the top 16 bowlers will begin at noon on Aug. 12. The top five stepladder roll-off will begin at 4:30 p.m Aug. 12. The PBA Players/Corporate Tent will be open on the east side of the building from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 11. This is not only for the players and the sponsors, it is for everyone to enjoy. Food and drinks will be served during this time. GOLF

Allen County: The Ohio Golf Concepts Match Play to benefit the Lima Junior Golf Association will be held Aug. 13-15. Tee times start at Tamarac on Aug. 13, Springbrook on Aug. 14 and Colonial on Aug. 15. The competition is open to all season pass holders and league players at those three courses where entry forms can be picked up. The entry fee is $15 and the deadline to enter is Aug. 9. Lima: The Superior Foundation will be playing host to an outing at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at Shawnee Country Club. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $500 per foursome with sponsorships also available. Van Wert: The Northwest State Community College Outing will be held Friday, Aug. 13, at Hickory Sticks. Registration at 8 a.m. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. along with lunch and prizes at 1 p.m. Cost is $100 per player and $400 per team which includes one drink ticker per player, green fees, cart and lunch. Lima: the UNOH Sport Marketing & Management Golf Outing will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at Springbrook Golf Club. This year’s event is centered around helping fund a trip for a select group of UNOH students to volunteer and gain unbelievable experience at Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles in February. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. There will also be a dinner where awards will be handed out. Cost is $75 per player, which includes green fees, cart and two drink tickets. Sponsorships are also available. Findlay: The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law is sponsoring its inaugural golf outing Friday, Oct. 8, at Findlay Country Club. The event is a fundraiser for the law college’s public interest scholarship, which is awarded to qualified ONU law students who spend their summers providing assistance to those in need. The scholarship helps students with their summer living expenses. Registration is open for foursomes ($600) or individuals ($150). Each player will receive two beverage tickets, a gift bag, a raffle ticket and lunch. A reception will be held after the outing to present awards and prizes, recognize donors and sponsors and announce silent auction winners. HORSEBACK RIDING

HORSESHOES

Lima: The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn hole leagues are forming. PICKLEBALL

Lima: Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima: The Lima YMCA is holding open pickleball play from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (appointment only). RUNNING

Spencerville: The 44th annual All-Comers Cross Country Meet will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, behind Spencerville High School, 600 School St. The races are run on a flat grass course. Entry fees and registration will begin at 5 p.m. Age groups start at 13 and younger boys and girls and continue up to ages 40 and older. Team divisions also available. SOFTBALL

Lima: A camp offering advanced hitting, fielding and throwing will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, and Sunday, Aug. 22, at Empowered Sports Center. Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for those ages 8-11 and noon to 2:30 p.m. for those ages 12 to 16. Cost is $65 for one day, $120 for both days, $55 per player for teams of nine or more. TRAPSHOOTING

Lima: The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice for Adults/Juniors/Beginners is 4 p.m. weekly. Adult Trap Practice is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, weather permitting.
