Locos top Ice Haulers, reach championship series

SANDUSKY — The Lima Locos advanced to the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League championship series with an 8-5 Game 3 victory Wednesday night against the Ice Haulers.

Lima started off with three runs in the first inning and built a 5-0 advantage before Sandusky plated three runs in the fifth. The Locos added a run in the sixth and then saw their lead shrink to 6-5 in the seventh. Lima then scored twice in the top of the ninth.

Miller Ladusau had three hits, including a home run, and three RBI, Trevor Austin had two hits, including a double, and an RBI and Nate White had a double and two RBI for Lima.

The Locos travel to Hamilton for the first game of the best of three championship series at 7:05 tonight. Game 2 will be at Lima’s Simmons Field at 7:05 p.m. Friday and, if necessary, Game 3 will be at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Simmons Field.
