Allen County: The Allen County Archers hold 3-D shoots the first Saturday and Sunday of each month through September. It is open to all equipment. They are also holding traditional 3-D shoots on the third Saturday of the month all year long. They are open to all archery equipment. Lima: Registration is underway for a bus trip to a Cincinnati Reds home game against Detroit at 7:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4. The cost is $75, which includes a game ticket, round trip transportation, sandwiches and snacks. All beverages will be $1.50. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Bluffton: Bluffton University women’s basketball coach Chad Shutler and the women’s basketball team will play host to a series of girls shootouts June 17-19. Games will start at 9 a.m. and a single elimination tournament will be set up prior to the day and handed out during registration. Brackets will be available in all gymnasiums as well.

Check in is located in the lobby of the Sommer Center. For those playing an opening round game at Bluffton Middle School or High School, a member of Shutler’s staff will be able to provide assistance with any paperwork or questions at that site. Teams are asked to be at the courts 30 minutes prior to the start of games so competition can proceed throughout the day with minimal interruptions.

Bluffton: A girls skills camp will be held July 12-15 at Bluffton University. Session 1 for those entering grades 2-4 will be from 10 a.m. to noon and cost $40 per camper. Session 2 will be for those entering grades 5-8 and cost $50 per camper. Registration is encouraged by Jun3 14. Onsite registration the first day will be allowed with an additional $10 fee. Lima area: The Bluffton Lions Foundation will play host Saturday, July 10, to the seventh annual Ride to Remember. The event will be held with COVID-19 precautions. Riders cautious about a group event will be offered a virtual event similar to last year.

Several routes will be offered, ranging in distance from a 10-mile fun loop to a 63-mile main loop. Ride all of the loops for a total of 110 miles. Proceeds from the ride will benefit the Bluffton Pathways Project.

The first 150 registered, in person riders will receive a cinch sack filled with items from area businesses and a lunch coupon. Routes are on scenic, flat, paved roads and feature points of interest such as the Bluffton University Nature Preserve, Schumacher Swiss Homestead and the villages of Ada, Lafayette, Gilboa, Pandora, Rockport and Rawson.

Lima: The Lima Family YMCA will hold a Tee Up for Kids outing July 9 at Hidden Creek Golf Club. Check in/registration will be at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Harrod: The ninth annual Jonathan R. Shively Memorial Scramble will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at Colonial Golfers Club. Shively, a 1988 Perry grad, taught at Perry Local Schools and also served as dean of students, athletic director and coached numerous teams before losing a battle to cancer in 2011. Scramble proceeds will go towards the purchase of new equipment, uniforms and camp attendance for the Perry baseball, football and volleyball teams. Cost is $240 per foursome. Delphos: Delphos Country Club will play host to the Tom Sakemiller Scholarship Outing on Saturday, June 19. “The Sake” will have a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start and will be followed with a meal. The format will be a four person Powerball Scramble where three team members will play a scramble each hole with the fourth team member playing an Orange Powerball for a separate score. The team will alternate who plays the Powerball each hole. The field will be divided into three equal flights based on the number of entries and equal prizes will be awarded to the winners of each flight and to the winner of the Powerball. After completion of play, all Orange Powerballs will be placed in a drawing for a $400 cash prize. The cost is $70 per golfer. Lima: Par for the Horse to benefit the Equestrian Therapy Program will be held Friday, June 11, at Hidden Creek Golf Club. The event will have a shotgun start. Cost is $240 for each four-player team. Lima: The Superior Foundation will be playing host to an outing at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at Shawnee Country Club. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $500 per foursome with sponsorships also available. Spencerville: The Summerfest 5K Run will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 26. Grand Lake: The Grand Lake Fall League is taking registrations for the 2021 Fall League. The Fastpitch Softball league will be divided up into four divisions this year: ninth through 12th grade, sixth through eighth grade, third through fifth grade and a travel team division for 16 and under and 18 and under teams. The league will play two games Sundays for five weeks, There are no practices as to avoid any conflicts with fall sports. Lima: The Lima Family YMCA is now a home to a USA swim team. USA Swimming is the national governing body for competitive competition in the United States. The program will allow those of any level additional opportunities to swim at some of the best Ohio facilities. Those ages 5-19 are eligible to compete. Practices are held from 5-6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Family YMCA located at 345 S. Elizabeth St. Practices until July 23 will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Cost is $125 and participants must be Y members.
