Bath 9, Lima Senior 6

Bath’s Austin Williams went 3 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored and Trey Johnson was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Skyler Lehamon was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored and Cade Price and Carter Parlapiano both had 2 hits and drove in runs. For Lima Senior, Reese Waithe was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and a run scored and Skyler Williams was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a runs scored.

Delphos Jefferson 5, Columbus Grove 4

COLUMBUS GROVE — Delphos Jefferson’s Josh Wiseman was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored and Colin Bailey was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored. Logan Gallmeier picked up the win, going 4 and one-third innings, surrendering 5 hits and striking out 4. For Columbus Grove, Noah Macke went 2 for 3 with a double and a run.

Leipsic 6, Vanlue 0

LEIPSIC — Leipsic pitchers Jaden Siefker and Quin Schroeder combined for a 4-hit shutout. Siefker went 5 innings and struck out 9 while walking 3 and Schroeder pitched two frames and struck out 4. Lorenzo Walther went 1 fo4 2 with a run scored and an RBI and Siefker drove in a run. Tyler Sickmiller scored twice.

Defiance 8, Kenton 1

DEFIANCE — Kenton’s Brent Rader, Seth creamer and Grady Baum all had base hits. Defiance’s Bradyn Shaw was 4 for 4 with two doubles, 3 RBI and a run scored. Shaw also pitched six innings, giving up 3 hits while striking out 9.

Van Wert 4, New Haven 3

Van Wert’s Owen Treece went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBI and Aiden Pratt went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Kaiden Bates and Luke Wessell each drove in runs. On the mound, Ethan Rupert went the distance, scattering nine hits and striking out 5.

North Baltimore 16, Pandora-Gilboa 3

PANDORA — Pandora-Gilboa’s Eli Huffman went 1 for 1 with a run scored and Camden Teman and Tommy Hovest each drove in runs.

Fort Recovery 5, Arcanum 2

FT. RECOVERY — Fort Recovery’s Landon Post went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Ryne Post was 2 for 4 with a run scored. Daniel Patch and Dillan Evers and Riley Will all drove in runs.

Coldwater 14, Crestview 3

CONVOY — Coldwater’s Macy Sheffer went 4 for 4 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored and Molly Steinke went 3 fo4 5 with a home run, 3 RBI and two runs scored. Kendra Clune went 3 for 3 with a home run, 4 RBI and a run scored. For Crestview Lacy McCoy went 2 for 3 with a run scored and Bailey Gregory, Kali Small and Olivia Heckler all drove in runs.

Ottoville 7, Ottawa-Glandorf 6

OTTAWA — Ottoville’s Hannah Wenzlick went 2 for 2 and Emma Birr was 2 for 4. For Ottawa-Glandorf, Kenzi Cupp went 2 for 3 with a double and Evey Bennett was 2 for 4.

Columbus Grove 15, Delphos Jefferson 12

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove’s Kam Utendorf went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored and Shay Schroeder was 2 for 4 with a home run, 3 RBI and a run scored. Abby Stechschulte was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored and Maidson Zimmerly was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Cheyanne Mershman was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs. For Jefferson, Noel Warnament was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a RUn scored and Anna Fitch was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Kyrstin Moore was 2 for 3 with 3 runs and an RBI and Jenna Rode drove in 3 runs. Jesse Rostorfor had 2 RBI.

Vanlue 8, Leipsic 6

LEIPSIC — Leipsic’s Caitlen Flick went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Jocelyn Hermiller was 1 for 3 with a double and two runs scored.

Tennis

St. Marys 4, Van Wert 1

ST. MARYS — St. Marys got singes wins from Joey Vanderhorst and Rhet Chihsolm and doubles wins from Correy Nelson and Preston Wilson and the team of Connor Milner and Isaac Wibbleler. Van Wert got a singles wins from Micah Rager.

Track and Field

Lima Senior High School will host the first annual Lady Spartan Track & Field Invitational Wednesday.

Competition will begin at 4 p.m. Teams participating will be Lima Senior (A/B Team), Detroit Cass Tech, Sidney Lehman Catholic, St. Ursula Academy and Ottawa Glandorf. Tickets can be purchased at www.limaspartannation.org/tickets using the passcode of LadySpartan21 The meet will also feature Track & Field Ambassador Dalanda Jackson (Cleveland), who will participate throughout the day with meet activities.

Jackson attended Shaker Heights High School and The Ohio State University, earning multiple high school and college conference, state and national championships in the hurdle events. She is still the high school 100m hurdle record holder for Ohio.

Jackson also earned a BS in Psychology and a BA in Criminology from OSU. She also has a MA in Education from Cleveland State University.

College

ONU wrestlers honored

DA — Six Ohio Northern wrestlers were named Scholar All-Americans for 2021 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Juniors Jordan Hardrick (Dayton/Wayne) and Connor Kwiat (Bloomville/Tiffin Calvert), sophomores Ben DePrest (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier) and Chase Sumner (Ada) and freshmen Devon Harbison (Beloit, Wis./Turner) and Ross Rayfield (Delta) all earned the honor.

Hardrick is a three-year starter at 165 pounds and went 2-2 this season. He is 41-27 in his career and was named Second Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference as a sophomore in 2019-20.

He is majoring in pharmacy.

Kwiat went 0-1 this season and has a career mark of 34-32. He placed sixth at the NCAA Division III Regionals in 2019-20 at 174 pounds.

He is a manufacturing technology major.

DePrest had a breakout year in 2021, going 3-1 with one pin and a major decision at heavyweight after wrestling at 184 and 197 as a freshman a year ago. He was named All-OAC this season.

He is 14-13 with six pins in his two-year career at Ohio Northern.

DePrest is majoring in forensic biology.

Sumner was ranked No. 5 nationally at 149 pounds and finished the abbreviated 2021 season with a perfect 4-0 record. He also had two pins and a tech fall in those four victories. He was also named All-OAC this season.

He is 41-6 with 13 pins and 4 tech falls in his two seasons as a Polar Bear.

Sumner is a biology major.

Harbison was the starter at 125 pounds this season and posted a 4-1 record with two pins.

He is majoring in mechanical engineering.

Rayfield was the starter at 141 pounds and finished the year with a 4-1 record and two falls.

He is an education major.

The Polar Bears finished second in the OAC with a 3-1 team record this season under 33rd-year head coach Ron Beaschler.
