Lincolnview duo combine for baseball no-hitter

OTTAWA — Shawnee finished its Western Buckeye League boys tennis regular season schedule at 9-0 with a 3-2 victory Friday against Ottawa-Glandorf.

Singles players Gabe Burke and Mason Stahl and the doubles team of Brayden Ward and Niel Ok won for the Indians (14-2 overall). Singles player Eli Schmenk and the doubles team of Bryant Schroeder and Hayden Kuhlman won for O-G (7-1 WBL).

St. Marys 4, Elida 1

ST. MARYS — Singles players Joey Vanderhorst and Rhett Chisholm and the doubles teams of Correy Nelson and Preston Wilson and Connor Milner and Isaac Wibbeler won for St. Marys (10-4, 6-2 WBL). Dawson Kendall won for Elida.

Kenton 0

VAN WERT — Singles players Jace Fast, Micah Rager and Bryce Miller and the doubles teams of Kaden Thomas and Sam Moonshower and Ian Cowan and Evan Knittle won as the Cougars moved to 4-4 in the WBL and 6-5 overall.

MIDDLE POINT — Winning pitcher Collin Overholt and Landon Price combined to allow no hits and three walks while striking out 13 in seven innings. Dane Ebel had three hits and Brandon Renner had two hits and an RBI.

PAULDING — Deyton Price knocked in Sam Woods with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Starting pitcher Woods and winning pitcher Hunter Kauser allowed no earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out eight in eight innings.

Ethan Foltz had three hits, Jacob Martinez had two hits and an RBI and Logan Tope had two hits, including a double, and an RBI also for the Panthers. Austin Ruhe and Caleb Riese each had a hit and an RBI for Miller City.

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Winning pitcher Jaxon Buddelmeyer allowed six hits and five walks while striking out nine in 6/3 innings. Jacob Balbaugh got the last out to earn the save. Carter Schimmoeller had a hit a knocked in the game’s only run. Logan Maxwell and Derrick Rhodes had two hits each for Shawnee.

WAPAKONETA — Winning pitcher Lex Boedicker allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six in seven innings. He also had a hit and two RBI. Wapak’s Braeden Goulet allowed no earned runs, three hits and a walk while striking out 10 in seven innings. Grant Bauer and Goulet had Wapak’s hits.

St. Marys 9, Elida 5

ELIDA — Adam Tobin had three hits, Logan Hale had two hits and two RBI and Dylan Trogdlon and Andrew Ibrahim each had a double and two RBI for St. Marys. Brayden Lybarger had two hits, including a double, and two RBI and Gunnar Kuhn had a hit and an RBI for Elida.
