Girls basketball roundup: Columbus Grove gains share of PCL championship

COLUMBUS GROVE — The host Bulldogs defeated Pandora-Gilboa 75-18 to tie Kalida and Ottoville for the Putnam County League championship at 6-1.

After holding a 10-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, Grove then outscored P-G 28-0 in the second period.

Erin Downing (19), Jaylen Sautter (14) and Kenzie King (12) each scored in double digits for the Bulldogs (15-7). Downing also had six assists and as many steals, King had five assists and eight steals and teammate Brynn Fortman had seven steals and four assists. Lacie Fenstermaker had nine points and nine rebounds and Alexis McCoy scored five for the Rockets (2-20, 0-7 PCL).

Lima Senior 44, Whitmer 41

LIMA — The Spartans held a 23-18 halftime advantage.

Samya Wright had 11 points and four steals, Tiana Spivey had eight points and eight rebounds, Cheyanne Bean had eight points, seven rebounds and three assists and Tillie Nelson pulled down seven rebounds for Lima Senior (4-15, 3-4 Three Rivers Athletic Conference).

Riverdale 53, Hardin Northern 40

DOLA — Maddie Grappy had 14 points and eight rebounds, Bella Wilson scored seven and Eris McCoy had six points and eight rebounds for Hardin Northern (7-14).

Shawnee 73, Allen East 32

HARROD — Zoe Best had 19 points and four steals, Grace Freiberger scored 11 and dished out seven assists, Ania Pearson had 10 points and eight rebounds and Hailee Conrad scored 10 for the Indians.

Ottoville 58, Arlington 30

OTTOVILLE — The host Big Green jumped out to a 18-4 first quarter advantage. Nicole Knippen had 21 points and Elise Kramer scored 13 for Ottoville (14-8).

Crestview 50, Van Wert 43

VAN WERT — The visiting Knights started the second half with a 27-16 lead. Cali Gregory had 19 points and Bailey Gregory scored 10 for Crestview (18-3). Jaylyn Rickard had 15 points and Sofia Houg scored 13 for the Cougars (8-11).

Cory-Rawson 45, Mohawk 24

Zoe Chisholm had 12 points and Karissa Welte and Paige McVetta each scored eight for C-R.
