VAN WERT – Van Wert tripped up Ottawa-Glandorf 54-53 in a makeup boys basketball game Saturday at Van Wert.

With O-G’s Western Buckeye League loss, Shawnee wins the WBL title outright with an 8-0 mark with one game to play.

O-G is second in the WBL 6-2, 14-4 overall. Van Wert is 9-10, 4-4 in the WBL.

Owen Treece led the Cougars with 24 points and three 3-pointers. Aidan Pratt scored 16. Ethan Brown scored 10.

The game was tied at 53 at the end of regulation. Pratt made 1 of 2 free throws with less than one second left in overtime to give Van Wert the lead to stay 54-53.

It was the only point scored in overtime. O-G decided to hold the ball for the majority of the overtime.

Owen Nichols led the Titans with 17 points. Eli Schmenk scored nine.

The game was tied at 33 at the half. Van Wert led 45-43 after three.

Lima Senior 55, Toledo Central Catholic 44

TOLEDO – Lima Senior went to Toledo and knocked off Central Catholic in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference matchup.

Lima Senior is 15-2, 5-0 in the TRAC. TCC is 4-8, 1-3.

Paulding 52, Ada 48

ADA – Paulding posted a Northwest Conference win over Ada at Ada.

Paulding is 7-10, 3-4 in the NWC. Ada is 3-16, 1-6.

Micah Cook led Ada with 19 points.

Blake McGarvey scored 17 for Paulding.

The game was tied at 37 after three quarters.

Pandora-Gilboa 44, Fort Jennings 40

PANDORA – Pandora-Gilboa notched a Putnam County League win over Fort Jennings at P-G.

P-G is 10-10, 1-5 in the PCL. Fort Jennings is 6-12, 1-4.

Aiden Harris had nine points for the Rockets. Will Huffman scored eight.

Evan Hoersten led the Musketeers with 14 points. Jon Grote scored 11.

Columbus Grove 62, Miller City 35

COLUMBUS GROVE – Columbus Grove posted a victory over Miller City in a Putnam County League game at Columbus Grove.

Grove is 17-2, 5-1 in the PCL. Miller City is 6-15, 2-5.

Wapakoneta 51, Coldwater 47

COLDWATER – Wapakoneta knocked off Coldwater at Coldwater.

Wapak is 12-8. Coldwater is 10-11.

Coldwater was led by Carson Muhlenkamp’s 12 points. Tyler Schwieterman scored 11.

Coldwater led at the half 30-24. Wapak led 39-38 after three.

Hardin Northern 51, Cory-Rawson 42

DOLA – Hardin Northern posted a victory over Cory-Rawson at Hardin Northern.

Hardin Northern is 13-9. Cory-Rawson is 10-7.

Luke Wilson had 17 points for Hardin Northern. Nevin Robson had 16 points and seven rebounds. Robson hit three 3-pointers.

Grant Bacon led the Hornets with 19 points and hit 9 of 10 from the field. He also had five rebounds.

New Bremen 45, Arcanum 42

ARCANUM – New Bremen edged Arcanum at Arcanum.

New Bremen is 14-7.

Lincolnview 62, Arlington 60

ARLINGTON – Lincolnview got past Arlington at Arlington.

The Lancers are 15-5. Arlington is 11-8.

Van Buren 45, Kalida 35

KALIDA – Van Buren knocked off Kalida at Kalida.

Kalida is 16-5. Van Buren is 2-18.

Luke Erhart had 14 points and five rebounds for Kalida. Brandon Miller had 12 points and six rebounds.

Andrew Schroeder led Van Buren with 16 points.

Marion Local 55, Russia 43

RUSSIA – Marion Local knocked off Russia at Russia.

Marion Local is 12-9.

Botkins 70, New Knoxville 26

BOTKINS – Botkins ran over New Knoxville at Botkins.

New Knoxville is 5-15.

Botkins led 34-14 at the half.

Parkway 79, Spencerville 63

SPENCERVILLE – Parkway knocked down 16 3-pointers in a win over Spencerville at Spencerville.

Parkway is 10-10. Spencerville is 7-14.

Parkway’s Dylan Hughes scored 28.

Delphos Jefferson 71, Elida 63

DELPHOS – Delphos Jefferson’s Ian Wannemacher tossed in 22 points, with three 3-pointers, to power the Wildcats past Elida at the Elida Fieldhouse.

Jefferson is 7-12. Elida is 3-16.

Aiden Bartels led Elida with 17 points. Austin Miller scored 15. Larkin Henderson scored 12 on four 3-pointers.

Continental 39, Holgate 23

HOLGATE – Continental defeated Holgate in a slow-scoring game at Holgate.

The Pirates are 7-13.

Upper Scioto Valley 73, Triad 53

MCGUFFEY – Upper Scioto Valley knocked off Triad at USV.

The Rams are 12-8.

Jackson Rohrs led USV with 22 points. Connor Sanders scored 18.

Bluffton 64, Kenton 56

BLUFFTON – Bluffton’s Trey Boblitt tossed in 26 points to help the Pirates post a victory over Kenton at Bluffton.

Bluffton is 8-12. Kenton is 0-15.

Carson Soper scored 16 for Bluffton. Trenton Donley scored 10.

Kenton was led by Jayden Cornell’s 23 points.

Indian Lake 83, Waynesfield-Goshen 63

WAYNESFIELD – Indian Lake pulled away from Waynesfield-Goshen at Waynesfield.

Waynesfield is 3-16.

Luke Jackson paced Indian Lake with 28 points. Caleb Wurster scored 13.

Fort Loramie 55, St. Marys 43

FORT LORAMIE – Fort Loramie defeated St. Marys at Fort Loramie.

St. Marys is 14-5.

Fort Loramie led 19-18 at the half.


Van Buren Duals

VAN BUREN – Shawnee compiled a 5-0 record to win the team title.

Shawnee defeated Crestview, 52-28. Shawnee defeated Cory-Rawson, 64-0. Shawnee defeated Ada, 60-0. Shawnee defeated Van Buren, 42-36. Shawnee defeated Bryan, 39-23.

In Shawnee’s win over Crestview, Shawnee’s match winners were the following: Ethan Morgan (126, fall); Cory Beach (132, fall); Ben Bullock (138, major dec.); Ethan Scurlock (145, fall); Mason Adlesh (152, win); Damion Music (160, fall); Champ Keysor (220, fall).
