Roundup: Perry tops Miller City in boys hoops

MILLER CITY — Perry improved to 15-3 on the season with a 61-35 boys high school basketball victory Tuesday night against Miller City.

Ryan Yingst (17), Bubby Knight (13) and Jefferey Simpson (12) each scored in double digits for the Commodores. Jon Burgei had 12 points and Ross Niese and Austin Ruhe each scored seven for the Wildcats (6-14).

Columbus Grove 66, Leipsic 52

LEIPSIC — The Bulldogs improved to 15-2 overall and 4-1 in the Putnam County League. Tayt Birnesser (19), Blake Reynolds (17) and Trey Sautter (14) each scored in double digits for Grove. Mason Brandt had 24 points and Jaden Siefker scored 12 for the Vikings (13-4, 3-2 PCL).

Crestview 54,

Van Wert 48

VAN WERT — The visiting Knights (15-5) managed to build a 31-25 halftime lead.

Kalen Etzler had 18 points and Carson Kreischer scored 16 for Crestview. Owen Treece had 19 points and Aidan Pratt scored 17 for the Cougars (7-10).

Elida 64, Bluffton 60

ELIDA — Aidan Bartels had 22 points and Tyler Long scored 15 for the host Bulldogs (3-14). Carson Soper (17), Nic Essinger (11) and Trenton Donley (10) each scored in double digits for the Pirates (7-12).

Delphos St. John’s 68, Bath 38

BATH TOWNSHIP — Jason Gillespie and Landon Elwer each had 17 points and Matthew Kahny scored 10 for DSJ (6-12). Carter Parlapiano had 16 points and Ian Armentrout and Brayden Fleharty each scored nine for the host Wildcats (10-10).

DELPHOS — Evan Unruh (15), Rossy Moore (14), Bryan Hines (13) and Meshand Moore (10) each scored in double digits for Lima Central Catholic (10-8). Ian Wannemacher had 15 points and Trent Teman and Levi Rode each scored eight for Jefferson (5-12).

Monclova Christian 45

LIMA — Preston Patrick had 26 points and 16 rebounds, Landon Callahan scored 16 and had four assists and Cody Motter had nine points and finished with seven rebounds for Temple (2-17), which held a 37-24 halftime advantage.

FORT JENNINGS — Colin Overholt had 25 points and Clayton Leeth scored 14 for the visiting Lancers (13-5). Evan Hoersten had 23 points and Jon Grote scored 11 for the Musketeers (6-11).

Anna 65, New Bremen 52

ANNA — Reece Busse had 18 points and Daniel Homan scored 12 for the visiting Cardinals (12-7).

Wapakoneta 41, St. Henry 40

WAPAKONETA — Noah Ambos converted a free throw with under 10 seconds remaining after tying the game at 40 on a 3-pointer with 3:15 remaining. Ambos finished with 13 points and teammate Garrett Siefring scored 11. Carter Ontrop had 13 points and Casey Bruening scored 10 for St. Henry.

ADA — Courtney Sumner had 22 points and Miranda Wills scored 12 for the host Bulldogs (5-13). Rylie Barrington had 18 points and Jordan Elliott scored 10 for W-G (6-14).

ARLINGTON — Lacie Fenstermaker and Maykayla Kinsinger had 12 points each for P-G (2-18, 0-9 Blanchard Valley Conference).

BELLEFONTAINE — Connor Sanders had 27 points and Jackson Rohrs and Drew Stephens each scored 13 for USV (10-8).

MINSTER — Janae Hoying and Ivy Wolf each had 20 points for Minster (20-1). Grace Klausing had six points and Brooke Erhart scored five for Kalida (14-6).

NEW BREMEN — Madison Cordonnier (18), Aliyah Truman (11) and Kaylee Freund (10) each scored in double digits for the Cardinals (12-8).

Paulding 69, Defiance 48

PAULDING — Janae Pease (19), Sadie Estle (14) and Leigha Egnor (13) each scored in double digits for the host Panthers (16-5).

Lincolnview 54, Ridgemont 23

MT. VICTORY — Kendall Bollenbacher had 12 ponts and Annie Mendenhall scored 11 for Lincolnview (8-13). Brooke Nelson had 12 points and Callie Cromer scored seven for Ridgemont (10-10).


Shawnee 36, Elida 30

Shawnee’s Cory Beach (132 pounds), Ben Bullock (138) and Mason Adlesh (152) and Elida’s Brock Lyons (220) and Tarez Russell (285) all recorded pins. Shawnee’s Ethan Morgan (126) and Elida’s Skyler Kirk (106) and Conner Douglass (145) also defeated their opponents.

Kenton 48, Ottawa-Glandorf 15

KENTON — Kenton’s Carter Bays (170 pounds) and O-G’s Angel Rosales (145) and Brayden Hernandez (152) all won by pin. Justice Pope also won by decision for Ottawa-Glandorf.

No. 19 nationally

ADA — Ohio Northern is ranked No. 19 nationally in the third weekly United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Div. III power rankings, released on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears (7-2 overall) scored 47.64104.03 points in the rankings, which are based on national performance rankings with bonus points for exceptional times. That total is 56.39 points less than the 104.03 points scored in last week’s second weekly poll.

Wartburg (Iowa) is first with 257.74 points, Wisconsin-Oshkosh is second with 203.76 points and Loras (Iowa) is third with 174.45 points.
