Girls basketball: Ottawa-Glandorf erases deficit to defeat Liberty-Benton

OTTAWA — Sixth-ranked Division III Ottawa-Glandorf recovered from a 23-12 halftime deficit to earn a 40-35 girls high school basketball victory Saturday against No. 12 D-III Liberty-Benton (14-4).

Kelsey Erford had 16 points, including three 3-pointers, and nine rebounds and Erin Kaufman scored eight for O-G (17-2). Each team finished with 25 rebounds and Ottawa-Glandorf committed nine turnovers compared to L-B’s 11.

Ottoville 46, Leipsic 33

OTTOVILLE — Alexa Honigford had 13 points and Nicole Knippen scored nine for the host Big Green (12-7, 6-1 Putnam County League). Kyrsten Martinez had 10 points Whitney Langhals scored eight for the Vikings (11-7, 3-3).

Upper Scioto Valley 22, Vanlue 20

MCGUFFEY — Graesan Evans had nine points and Kennedy Hall scored five for USV (2-15).

Kalida 66,

Pandora-Gilboa 26

PANDORA — Grace Klausing had 15 points and eight rebounds and Brenna Smith scored 15 and made four steals for the visiting Wildcats (4-1 Putnam Country League, 12-5 overall). Lacie Fenstermaker had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Lexie Neuenschwander scored eight for the Rockets (0-5, 2-15). Kalida won the rebounds battle 31-17, committed seven turnovers to P-G’s 24. Kalida also had 16 steals.

Wayne Trace 43,

Miller City 31

HAVILAND — Abi Lammers had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Carley Hermiller and Natalie Koenig each scored five for Miller City (10-8) at Wayne Trace (13-5), which won the rebound battle 26-19 and committed 17 turnovers to Miller City’s 18.

New Bremen 57,

Celina 39

NEW BREMEN — The host Cardinals (10-6) outscored the Bulldogs (1-15) 19-5 in the second quarter for a 30-12 halftime lead.

Kaylee Freund (18), Elli Roetgerman (13) and Madison Cordonnier (11) each scored in double digits for New Bremen. Kyilla Blingsley had 13 points and Taylor Klingshirn scored 12 for Celina.

Allen East 40, Perry 37

PERRY TOWNSHIP — The Mustangs (4-13) recovered from a 16-13 halftime deficit, outscoring the Commodores (6-12) 16-6 in the third quarter.

Savana Brooks had 15 points and Kennedy Truex scored seven for Allen East. Mi’auni Hall and Lily Floyd each scored eight for Perry.

Delphos St. John’s 55,

Parkway 48

DELPHOS — The host Blue Jays outscored the Panthers 32-24 in the second half. Paige Gaynier had 20 points and Melanie Koenig scored 17 for DSJ (2-4 Midwest Athletic Conference, 8-7). Gabrielle Stober had 19 points and Emiree Knittle scored 10 for Parkway (1-6, 8-9).

Shawnee 48, Coldwater 42

COLDWATER — Grace Freiberger had 30 points and four assists and Zoe Best scored 12 and finished with eight rebounds for Shawnee (10-6). Riley Rismiller had 20 points for Coldwater (6-10).
