Boys basketball: Perry defeats Elida for 12th victory

ELIDA — Perry’s running game was too much for Elida as the Commodores notched a 71-49 boys basketball victory over Elida Saturday night at the Elida Fieldhouse.

Perry is 12-2. Elida is 1-12.

Will Knight led the Commodores with 19 points. Bubby Knight scored 17. Both Knights had three 3-pointers.

Ryan Yingst added 14 points for Perry.

Aidan Bartels led Elida with 16 points. Austin Miller had 15.

Perry led 12-7 after the first quarter and 33-21 at the half. Elida got within 48-42 after three quarters.

Perry then outscored Elida 23-7 in the final quarter.

Oregon Cardinal Stritch 62,

Lima Central Catholic 57

LIMA – Oregon Cardinal Stritch knocked off Lima Central Catholic at Herr Gymnasium.

LCC is 8-6. Cardinal Stritch is 7-4.

Vanlue 60, Temple Christian 29

LIMA – Vanlue ran out to a big lead and coasted home with a victory over Temple Christian at Temple.

Vanlue led 22-6 after the first quarter and 37-10 at the half.

Preston Patrick led Temple with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Austin Hill scored seven.

Joey Bonham tossed in 25 points for Vanlue. Jared Kloepfer scored 11.

The Pioneers are 1-13. Vanlue is 3-6.

Vanlue won the boards, 30-20. Vanlue had 10 turnovers, while Temple had 20.

Columbus Grove 68, Van Buren 31

VAN BUREN – Columbus Grove ran past Van Buren at Van Buren.

Grove is 9-1.

Holgate 50, Waynesfield-Goshen 35

WAYNESFIELD – Holgate drove south and posted a victory over Waynesfield-Goshen.

Waynesfield is 2-11. Holgate is 6-9.

Holgate led 24-17 at the half.

Defiance 53, Holland Springfield 45

DEFIANCE – Defiance posted a victory over Holland Springfield at Defiance.

Defiance is 9-6.

Cory-Rawson 53, Riverdale 38

MOUNT BLANCHARD – Cory-Rawson notched a win over Riverdale at Riverdale.

Grant Bacon scored 24 points for the Hornets (6-4).

Montpelier 56, Paulding 53 (OT)

PAULDING – Montpelier’s Tylor Yahraus threw in a 3-pointer from half court at the buzzer to knock off Paulding in overtime.

Paulding is 6-8.

The game was tied at 48 at the end of regulation. Montpelier led 21-16 at the half and 34-28 after three.

Jackson Center 46, Marion Local 36

JACKSON CENTER – Jackson Center defeated Marion Local at Jackson Center.

Marion Local is 8-7.

New Knoxville 42, Fort Jennings 40

NEW KNOXVILLE – New Knoxville held off Fort Jennings for a win at New Knoxville.

Fort Jennings missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

The Rangers are 5-9. Fort Jennings is 3-8.

New Knoxville’s Sammy Anspach had 14 points.

Evan Hoersten paced the Musketeers with 11 points. Nick Trentman scored 10.

Fort Jennings led 12-9 after the first quarter. The Rangers pulled ahead at the half 24-17.

Botkins 55, New Bremen 44

NEW BREMEN – Botkins posted a win over New Bremen at New Bremen.

New Bremen is 10-5.

Jacob Pleiman had 17 points for Botkins. Jayden Priddy scored 15.

Reece Busse scored 11 for New Bremen. Nick Alig and David Homan both had nine points.

Botkins led 22-13 after the first quarter and 29-20 at the half.

St. Marys 60, Upper Scioto Valley 44

MCGUFFEY – St. Marys notched a win over Upper Scioto Valley at USV.

St. Marys is 10-3. USV is 7-6.

Connor Sanders led the Rams with 13 points and six rebounds. Jackson Rohrs scored 12 with five boards. Alex Sanders scored 11.

LeTrey Williams had 15 points for St. Marys. Jace Turner had 14.

Delphos St. John’s 70, Spencerville 64

DELPHOS – Delphos St. John’s notched a win over Spencerville at Robert Arnzen Gymnasium.

St. John’s is 4-9. Spencerville is 4-11.

Minster 79, Houston 38

HOUSTON – Minster cruised past Houston at Houston.

Minster is 12-4.

Justin Nixon led Minster with 20 points and six rebounds. Bryan Falk had 16 points and was 3 of 6 on 3-pointers.

Brady Hoelscher had 12 points and was 4 of 6 on 3-pointers. Johnny Nixon had four points and nine rebounds.

Minster hit 13 of 26 on 3-pointers.

Crestview 48, Celina 40 (OT)

CONVOY – Crestview posted an overtime win over Celina at Crestview.

Crestview is 12-4. Celina is 4-9.

Crestview led 15-14 after the first quarter and 25-24 at the half.

Columbus Grove led 60-21 after three quarters.

Wayne Trace 76, Miller City 42

MILLER CITY – Wayne Trace knocked off Miller City at Miller City.

Miller City is 5-11. Wayne Trace is 12-3.

Ross Niese paced Miller City with 15 points and three rebounds. Austin Ruhe scored eight.

Brooks Laukhuf led Wayne Trace with 15 points and six assists. Cameron Sinn scored 13.

Wayne Trace led 27-22 at the half. The Raiders outscored Miller City 27-8 in the third to pull out to a 54-30 lead.

Lincolnview 76, Parkway 70

ROCKFORD – Lincolnview posted a win over Parkway at Parkway.

The Lancers are 10-2. Parkway is 5-8.

Lincolnview led 19-14 after the first quarter, then pulled out to a 40-29 lead at the half.

Fort Loramie 46, Fort Recovery 41

FORT LORAMIE – Fort Loramie defeated Fort Recovery at Fort Loramie.

Fort Recovery is 7-8.

Coldwater 69, Van Wert 62

COLDWATER – Coldwater bumped off Van Wert at Coldwater.

Coldwater is 8-7. Van Wert is 1-10.

Pandora-Gilboa 71, North Baltimore 59

NORTH BALTIMORE – Pandora-Gilboa defeated North Baltimore to go to 6-0 in the Blanchard Valley Conference.

P-G is 7-6.

Hardin Northern 64, Allen East 49

DOLA – Hardin Northern defeated Allen East at Hardin Northern.

Hardin Northern is 8-7. Allen East is 8-6.

Bradden Crumrine led the Mustangs with 16 points. Garrett Newland scored eight.

Owen Wetherill had 19 points for Hardin Northern. He was 3 of 5 on 3-pointers.

Nevin Robson, who eclipsed 1,000 career points, added 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Ayersville 45, Delphos Jefferson 40

AYERSVILLE – Ayersville got past Delphos Jefferson at Ayersville.

Jefferson is 5-8.
