Girls basketball: Temple Christian wins on late basket

MCGUFFEY — Josie Deitering scored the winning basket with 2.5 seconds remaining as Temple Christian defeated Upper Sciot Valley 44-43 Saturday in girls high school basketball. Cecelia Worsham had 30 points and Jessica Holloway scored nine for Temple (5-3). Allison Moore had 14 points and Patiance Cole scored 11 for USV (0-7).

Bath 79, Bowling Green 29

BATH TOWNSHIP — Bath held a 23-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Elena Oliver (15), Chandler Clark (14), Esther Bolon (14) and Ruby Bolon (14) each scored in double digits for the 10-1 hosts.

Madelyn Renner led Bath with seven rebounds and Esther Bolon finished with six rebounds. Clark also had six assists.

Elida 46, Bluffton 30

ELIDA — Amira Freeman had 20 points and Addisyn Freeman scored 10 for the host Bulldogs. Sami Scoles had 10 points and Haelyn Bischoff, Riley Busch and Kylie Stackhouse each scored five for the Pirates.

Ayersville 56,

Pandora-Gilboa 32

Lacie Fenstermaker had 17 points and Victoria Duling scored seven for P-G.

Miller City 48,

Continental 30

CONTINENTAL — Miller City’s lead went from 9-7 at the end of the first quarter to 24-12 at halftime. Abi Lammers had 23 points and five steals and Grace Pfau scored 12 and contributed six rebounds for Miller City. Catelyn Etter had 13 points and Maddie Burke scored 10 for Continental.

Cory-Rawson 74,

Ridgemont 32

RAWSON — Zoe Chisholm had 22 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and four assists and Mackenzie Cascaden and Libby McVetta each scored 10 for C-R, which held a 16-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Brooke Nelson had 14 points and Hannah Shoffner scored six for Ridgemont.

Kalida 50, Holgate 32

KALIDA — Kalida outscored Holgate 17-4 in the second quarter for a 26-10 lead at halftime. Grace Klausing had 18 points and Brenna Smith scored 15, made six steals and finished with four assists for Kalida.

Kenton 44, Ada 33

KENTON — The Wildcats outscored the Bulldogs in every quarter. Lindsey Smith had 14 points and Makenzie Bays scored 10 for Kenton. Courtney Sumner and Miranda Wills each had eight points for Ada.

Waynesfield-Goshen 61,

Vanlue 36

VANLUE — W-G outscored Vanlue 22-13 in the second quarter to build a 36-21 halftime advantage. Jordan Elliott had 16 ponts and Taylor Spencer and Rylie Barrington each scored nine for Waynesfield-Goshen.

Wapakoneta 43, Bellefontaine 32

BELLEFONTAINE – Wapakoneta knocked off Bellefontaine in a Saturday night game at Bellefontaine.

Wapak is 4-5.
