Roundup: Allen East collects sixth win in boys basketball

Leipsic beats Putnam foe Continental

HARROD – Allen East jumped out an early lead and cruised past Temple Christian 65-30 in a boys basketball game Saturday night at Allen East.

Allen East is 6-2. Temple is 1-5.

Allen East led 18-10 after the first quarter and 40-20 at the half. The Mustangs’ lead was 53-26 after three.

Tyler Clum led Allen East with 18 points. Braden Crumrine had 12.

The Mustangs’ Garett Newland had 10 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Allen East shot 56 percent from the field. Temple shot 31 percent.

Allen East won the boards, 26-17. Temple had 21 turnovers, while Allen East had nine.

Preston Patrick led Temple with 13 points and five rebounds. The Pioneers’ Landon Callahan scored 12 and was 4 of 6 on 3-pointers.

Leipsic 57, Continental 35

LEIPSIC – Leipsic ran past Continental in a Putnam County League game at Leipsic.

Leipsic is 8-1, 2-0 in the PCL. Continental is 3-7, 0-1 in the PCL.

Mason Brandt paced the Vikings with 23 points and eight rebounds. He was 7 of 8 from the foul line.

The Vikings’ Jaden Siefker had 14 points. Dillan Niese had 10 rebounds with his four points.

Rhenn Amey paced Continental with 12 points. Mitchell Coleman scored eight.

Leipsic dominated the boards, 37-10.

Lincolnview 57, Fort Recovery 54

MIDDLE POINT – Lincolnview used a big fourth quarter to knock off Fort Recovery at Lincolnview.

Lincolnview is 6-1. Fort Recovery is 5-4.

Fort Recovery led 26-25 at the half and 46-36 after three. The Lancers outscored the Indians 21-8 in the fourth quarter to post the win.

Collin Overholt and Jake Bowersock both scored 16 for the Lancers. Clayton Leeth and Creed Jessee both had nine points.

Owen Jutte had 18 points for the Indians.

Cale Rammel had 16.

Coldwater 46, Ayersville 44

AYERSVILLE – Coldwater came from behind in the final quarter to edge Ayersville at Ayersville.

Ayersville led 23-19 at the half and 35-31 after three quarters. Coldwater outscored Ayersville 15-9 in the final quarter for the victory.

Coldwater is 5-4.

Jay Muhlenkamp led the Cavaliers with 13 points. Carson Muhlenkamp scored eight.

Ethan Post had 11 rebounds with his four points.

Ottoville 63, Minster 59

OTTOVILLE – Ottoville’s Josh Thorbahn tossed in 33 points to lift the Big Green to a non-league win over Minster at Ottoville.

Ottoville is 7-2. Minster is 5-3.

Thorbahn hit 12 of 23 from the floor. He was 8 of 15 on 3-pointers.

William Miller had 10 points for the Big Green. Ryan Suever had seven points and seven rebounds.

Bryan Falk had 18 points and was 3 of 7 on 3-pointers for Minster.

Minster’s Brady Hoelscher had 15 points and was 3 of 3 on 3-pointers. Justin Nixon had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Minster’s Eric Schmidt had seven assists.

Minster won the boards, 25-18. Minster had 15 turnovers, while Ottoville had six.

The Big Green used a key fourth-quarter run to post the win.

Minster led 47-43 after three quarters. The Big Green won the fourth quarter 20-12 to post the win.

Miller City 35, Pandora-Gilboa 24

PANDORA – Miller City’s defense held Pandora-Gilboa to 24 points in a low-scoring Putnam County League game at Pandora.

Miller City is 3-7, 1-1 in the Putnam County League. P-G is 3-5, 0-2 in the PCL.

Jon Burgei led the Wildcats with eight points. Austin Ruhe scored seven.

Ethan Luginbill led the Rockets with nine points.

The game was tied at 18 at the half. Miller City led 27-23 after three quarters.

Delphos Jefferson 66, Kenton 62

DELPHOS – Delphos Jefferson posted a victory over Kenton at Delphos.

Jefferson is 2-4. Kenton is 0-8.

Cody Bailey tossed in 15 points for Jefferson. Ian Wannemacher scored 10.

Kenton’s Jayden Cornell scored 25 points to lead all scorers. Zac Swaney scored 12. Freshman Gavin Payne also had 12.

Jackson Center 53, New Bremen 42

NEW BREMEN – Jackson Center notched a victory over New Bremen at New Bremen.

David Homan led New Bremen with 21 points. Reece Busse scored 16.

New Bremen is 4-3.

St. Henry 55, Bath 46

ST. HENRY – St. Henry notched a victory over Bath at St. Henry.

St. Henry is 7-3. Bath is 4-3.

Celina 46, Bryan 42

CELINA – Celina posted a non-league victory over Bryan.

Celina is 3-5. Bryan is 2-6.

CONVOY – Crestview notched a victory over Tinora at Convoy.

Crestview is 7-2.

ROCKFORD – Botkins bumped off Parkway at Parkway.

BLUFFTON – Columbus Grove went 4-1 in meets at Bluffton on Saturday.

The Bulldogs defeated St. Marys (41-40), Arcadia (48-35), Kenton (66-12) and Bluffton (54-24).

Celina defeated Columbus Grove (45-31).
