Thomas heading to UC

LIMA – Ottoville’s Nicole Knippen tossed in 19 points to spark the Big Green past Lima Senior 58-35 in a girls basketball game Thursday at Lima Senior.

Lima Senior led 26-24 at the half. Ottoville then outscored Lima Senior 20-4 in the third quarter to pull out to a 44-30 lead after three.

Lima Senior is 2-2.

Knippen hit three 3-pointers in her 19 points.

Ottoville’s Alexa Honigford added 12 points and Tori Thomas had 10.

Lima Senior’s Nakiya Sigman notched 16 points, three rebounds and three assists. Kaylynne Hile had 12 points and four rebounds.

Samya Wright had seven points and three steals. Tillie Nelson had nine rebounds for the Spartans.

Lima Senior had 13 turnovers. Ottoville had seven.

LCC’s Thomas headed to UC

Lima Central Catholic running back Shaun Thomas announced on Twitter he will be a preferred walk-on at the University of Cincinnati.

“Blessed with the opportunity to be a PWO at the University of Cincinnati,” Thomas said on Twitter Thursday night.

Girls basketball

Delphos Jefferson 47, Lima Central Catholic 37

LIMA – Delphos Jefferson lifted its record to 8-1 with a victory over Lima Central Catholic at LCC’s Herr Gymnasium.

Alyvia Lindeman paced the Wildcats with 23 points.

Delphos Jefferson’s Alycia Lindeman scored 11.

Mary Kelly Mulcahy paced the T-Birds with 12 points. Kennedy Parker scored nine.

McComb 61, Pandora-Gilboa 27

MCCOMB – McComb came out fast and ran past Pandora-Gilboa at McComb.

McComb went out to a 23-5 first-quarter lead and led 33-13 at the half.

Lacie Fenstermaker led the Rockets with 11 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.

Ridgemont 46, Hardin Northern 30

DOLA – Ridgemont’s Brooke Nelson and Callie Cromer both scored 13 points to power Ridgemont over Hardin Northern.

Ridgemont is 2-2, 2-1 in the Northwest Central Conference. Hardin Northern is 1-5, 0-2 in the NWCC.

Maddie Grappy led Hardin Northern with 14 points.

Ridgemont won the boards 39-23, including 26-14 on the offensive end.

Ridgemont led 23-11 at the half and 34-21 after three.

Kenton 52, Celina 44

KENTON – Kenton’s Lindsey Smith had 24 points to lead the Wildcats over Celina.

Kenton is 2-3, 1-1 in the Western Buckeye League. Celina is 0-3, 0-2 in the WBL.

Spencerville 54, Lincolnview 38

MIDDLE POINT – Spencerville went out to an early lead and posted a Northwest Conference victory over Lincolnview.

Spencerville is 3-4, 2-1 in the NWC. Lincolnview is 2-4, 0-2 in the NWC.

Emma Leis paced the Bearcats with 17 points with two 3-pointers. She also had 10 rebounds and three assists.

Gillian Goecke added 13 points for Spencerville. Lilyan Goecke scored nine.

Annie Mendenhall led the Lancers with 12 points. Kendall Bollenbacher scored nine.

Spencerville led 18-10 after the first quarter and 34-18 at the half. Lincolnview got within 42-30 after three.

Spencerville won the boards, 27-20.

Paulding 53, Columbus Grove 40

PAULDING – Paulding pushed its record to 8-1 with a Northwest Conference win over Columbus Grove.

Paulding is 3-0 in the NWC.

Columbus Grove is 4-4, 1-2 in the NWC.

Jaylen Sautter and Erin Downing both had 10 points for Columbus Grove. Downing also had eight rebounds.

Sage Clement scored eight points, with two 3-pointers. Kenzie King had eight points, with two 3-pointers, and five rebounds.

Jalynn Parrett scored 16 for Paulding. Janae Pease had 14 and Leigha Egnor had 10.

Paulding led 15-11 after the first quarter and 25-17 at the half.

Ottawa-Glandorf 44, St. Marys 31

OTTAWA – Ottawa-Glandorf moved its record to 8-0 with a victory over St. Marys at Hermiller Gymnasium.

The Titans are 2-0 in the Western Buckeye League. St. Marys is 5-2, 2-1 in the WBL.

Kelsey Erford and Chloee Glenn both had 14 points for the Titans.

Kendall Dieringer scored 10 for St. Marys.

O-G led 15-9 after the first quarter and 23-13 at the half. The Titans led 37-21 after three.

Riverside 69, Perry 55

RIVERSIDE – Riverside’s balanced attack knocked off Perry at Riverside.

Miauni Hall led Perry with 15 points. Lily Floyd scored 14.

Mary Hoersten had eight points with two 3-pointers.

Kirstin Schlumbohm, Olivia Perk and Jade Copas all scored 16 points for Riverside.

Perry is 2-3, 1-1 in the Northwest Central Conference. Riverside is 4-1, 3-1 in the NWCC.

Lehman Catholic 44, Upper Scioto Valley 21

MCGUFFEY – Sidney Lehman Catholic bumped off Upper Scioto Valley at McGuffey.

USV is 0-3.

Graesan Evan paces the Rams with eight points. Allison Moore had eight rebounds with her four points.

Lehman was led by Anna Ciancolo with 10 points.

Lehman won the boards, 23-20.

Temple Christian 58, Sidney Christian 34

Temple Christian’s CeCe Worsham tossed in 31 points to power the Pioneers over Sidney Christian.

Temple is 1-1.

Minster 69, Delphos St. John’s 36

DELPHOS – Minster ran past Delphos St. John’s at Robert Arnzen Gymnasium.

Minster is 3-1, 3-0 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. St. John’s is 3-4, 1-2 in the MAC.

Fort Recovery 48, Parkway 41

ROCKFORD – Fort Recovery posted a victory over Parkway at Rockford.

Fort Recovery is 5-3, 3-1 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. Parkway is 2-3, 1-2 in the MAC.

Ada 45, Allen East 34

ADA – Ada notched a victory over Allen East at Ada.

Ada is 2-5, 1-2 in the Northwest Conference. Allen East is 2-5, 0-2 in the NWC.

Wapakoneta 51 Van Wert 50

WAPAKONETA – Wapakoneta edged Van Wert at Wapakoneta.

The Redskins are 2-4, 1-2 in the Western Buckeye League. Van Wert is 4-3, 2-1 in the WBL.

New Bremen 56, St. Henry 26

ST. HENRY – New Bremen posted a victory over St. Henry at St. Henry.

New Knoxville 47, Versailles 24

NEW KNOXVILLE – New Knoxville moved to 6-0 with a win over Versailles at New Knoxville.

The Rangers are 3-0 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. Versailles is 2-6, 1-3 in the MAC.

Marion Local 47, Coldwater 35

MARIA STEIN – Marion Local notched a win over Coldwater at Marion Local.

Marion Local is 5-2, 1-1 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. Coldwater is 1-4, 1-2 in the MAC.

Continental 54, Patrick Henry 46

CONTINENTAL – Continental’s Mitchell Coleman tossed in 28 points to lead the Pirates to win over Patrick Henry.

The Pirates led 17-11 after the first quarter and 30-15 at the half.

Continental’s Bryce Recker scored eight.

The Pirates are 3-5.

Wrestling

Defiance 48, Shawnee 33

CONTINENTAL – Defiance knocked off Shawnee in a meet at Shawnee.
