LCC, Kenton ranked in latest football poll

COLUMBUS — Lima Central Catholic dropped to seventh in Division VII Ohio High School football poll released Monday.

The Thunderbirds (3-1) were ranked No. 5 last week and are coming off a big win over Cambridge. LCC will take on Blanchard Valley Conference foe Leipsic Saturday.

Kenton remained in the Division IV poll at No. 10. The Wildcats (3-1) defeated Defiance last week and face Wapakoneta this week. Van Wert, the lone undefeated team in the Western Buckeye League, comes in at No. 14. The Cougars (4-0) face Ottawa-Glandorf Friday.

Midwest Athletic Conference teams are tops in the Division VI and VII with Coldwater No. 1 in Division VI and Marion Local ranked No. 1 in Division VII.


Ottawa-Glandorf is ranked No. 1 in Division III in the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll released Monday. The Titans boast an 11-0 mark and face Celina in a key WBL match Thursday.

In Division IV, New Bremen is ranked No. 1 followed by Marion Local at No.2 and New Knoxville at No. 4. Fort Loramie is ranked fifth and Fort Recover is ranked ninth. St. Henry is ranked 12th overall and Lincolnview is 14th. Leipsic is tied for 19th.

Continental 3, Perry 0

Continental won 25-16, 25-17 and 25-20

Continental’s Madelyn Potts had 10 digs eight kills one solo block and one block assist and Tyre Troyer had 12 digs, seven kills, one solo block and one block assist. Catelyn Etter had 13 digs, three kills, 20 assists and one block assist and Annika Bowers had 15 digs and one ace. Olivia Logan had seven digs and two aces and Delaney Bowers had seven kills and one ace and Rhaegan Marshall had four kills and block.

Crestview 3, Spencerville 0

CONVOY — Crestview won 25-12, 25-9 and 25-14.

Crestview’s Cali Gregory had 19 assists, six kills and four aces and Laci McCoy had nine kills and four blocks. Bailey Gregory added eight kills and Myia Etzler recorded five kills. Kali Small had seven digs and Brynn Putnman had three aces.

Crestview is 5-4 overall and 2-0 in Northwest Conference play.

Kalida 3, Delphos Jefferson 0

KALIDA — Kalida won 25-14, 25-9 and 25-16.

Kalida’s Lydia Vorst had eight kills and one block and Brooke Siefker had six kills. Maria Gerding had 23 assits and three aces. Brooke Siefker had eight kills and Brooke Vennekotter had five kills and five digs. Katelyn Kahle had nine digs and five aces.

Leipsic 3, Van Buren 1

VAN BUREN — Leipsic won 23-25, 25-9, 25-17 and 25-22.

Leipsic’s Schecklhoff had 21 kills and seven blocks and Jocie Hermiller added 24 digs. Marisa Hermiller had 12 kills, 10 digs and 14 assists. Peyton Heitmiller had 11 kills, 10 digs and four blocks. Serenity Siefer had 41 assits and Kasy Brough had six kills and three blocks. Ava Henry had five aces.

Leispic improves to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the Blanchard Valley Conference.

Miller City 3, Columbus Grove 2

Miller City won 23-25, 25-11, 21-25, 26-24 and 15-11

Columbus Grove’s Alayna Ricker had 19 kills, three aces and 23 digs and Jaylen Sautter had 10 kills. Sara Dipnarinc had 11 kills and seven blocks. Lauren Benroth had 51 assists, eight kills and 17 digs. Grace Selhorst had 25 digs and eight kills.

Minster 3, Elida 2

Minster won 24-27, 25-22, 25-23, 20-25 and 15-5

Minster’s Ivy Wolf had 20 kills and 23 digs and Alyssa Niemeyer had 10 kills and 27 digs. Ava Sharp added 32 digs. Brynn Oldiges had 10 kills and six digs and two aces and Dana Prenger had 10 kills.

For Elida, Addisyn Freeman had 22 kills and two blocks and Kylie Vorhees had 13 kills and seven digs. Cadence Miller had 45 assists and 15 digs and Lana Burtchin had 12 digs and two aces. McKenzie Miller had 22 digs.

New Knoxville 3, Anna 0

NEW KNOXVILLE — New Knoxville won 25-12, 25-10 and 25-19.

New Knoxville’s Carsyn Henschen had 13 kills and Haley Fledderjohann had three aces. Ellie Gabel added 30 assists.

Ada 3, Waynesfield-Goshen 0

ADA — Ada won 25-18, 25-21 and 25-12.

Ada’s Megan Light had 10 kills, four blocks and six digs and Kirsten Poling had 22 assists, seven digs and four kills. Miranda Wills had five digs and five kills and Courtney Sumner had nine digs, three aces and four kills. Kylie Acheson had seven digs and Alexis White had six digs.

Waynesfield-Goshen’s Zaria DeLeon had four aces and four kills and Zoe Schlegel had seven aces, one assist, two kills and 13 digs. Peyton Spencer had eight assists, three kills and six digs. Maddie Flinn had eight kills and Rylie Barrington had 11 assists, three kills and nine digs.

W-G falls to 5-7 overall.

Vanlue 3, Cory-Rawson 0

Vanlue won 25-10, 25-8 and 25-21.

Cory-Rawson’s Maddy Wellington had seven assists, three digs and two aces and Ali Garmatter had seven kills, one ace and seven digs.

Boys Golf

Elida 155, Lima Central Catholic 162, Van Wert

Elida’s Carson Harmon was the medalist with a 35. Other Bulldog scores were Hunter Jolliff 37, Matt Adcock 40 and Cameron Collins 43 and Hayes Burton 43.

For Lima Central Catholic, Parkey Judy and Ross Otto both posted 39s. Other Thunderbird scores were Alex Wisser 41 and Casey Koenig 43.

Van Wert’s Jace Fast shot a 40 to lead the Cougars. Other team scores were Evan Knittle 42, Cameron Terhark 49 and Blake Bohyer 52.

Lincolnview 181, Coldwater 182

Coldwater’s Carson Muhlenkamp led the team with a 36. Other Cav scores were Nick Kline 46, Keegan Bruggeman 46 and Eli tobe 55.

Shawnee 161, Kailda 171

KALIDA — Shawnee’s Justin Altenbach and Solomon Smith, along with Ryan Klausing all shared medalisth honors with 39s. Other Shawnee scoes were Colin Pasion 42 and Colton Morris 41. For Kalida, Justin Siebneick had a 43, followed by Kayla Nartker with a 44 and Ethan Warnecke with a 45.

Shawnee improves to 9-1 overall. Kalida falls to 8-4.

Girls Tennis

Wapakoneta 5, Elida 0

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta got singles wins from Madison Snider, Ellie Schroer and Makenzie Schroeder an doubles wins from the duo of Alyssa Good and Casey Minnig and the pair of Bailey Barrett and Mara Stiles.

Wapakoneta improves to 6-1 in the WBL and Elida falls to 2-7 in league lay.

Bluffton 3, St. Marys 2

BLUFFTON — Bluffton got a singles win from Caitly Couch and doubles victories from the team of Olivia Barnes and Julia Smallcombe and the team of Ellie Nickel and Libby Frazier. St. Marys got singles wins from Charley Spencer and Suzie Good.

Bluffton improves to 4-9.

Bryan 5, Ottawa-Glandorf 0

Ottawa-Glandorf falls to 8-6 on the season.

Van Wert 5, Ayersville 0

VAN WERT — Van Wert got singles wins from Allie Etter, Grace Lott and Lizzie Rutkowski and doubles wins from the duo of Sophia Rutkowski and Natalie Benner and the team of Jamie Burenga and Tayzia Haville.

Wapakoneta 192, Coldwater 199

WAPAKONETA — Coldwater’s Jordan Hemmelgarn led the team with a 48. Other Cav scores were Laney Finke 49, Grace Buschur 51 and Abby Ashbaugh 51.

Lincolnview 192, Marion Local 217

Lincolnview’s Winter Boroff shot a 43 to earn medalist honors. Other Lancer scores were Aryonna Hoghe 45, Zoey Tracy 51 and Andi Webb 53. For Marion Local Molly Rethman and Aliyah Arling each shot 52s followed by Hailey Wilker 56 and Lydia Kelch 57.

Girls Soccer

Bluffton 9, Allen East 0

BLUFFTON — Bluffton’s Regan Mittendorf had three goals and Luaren Rhodes, Laykin Garmatter, Allison Diller, Brenna Kindle, Makayla Schweingruber and Rilee Setzer all had goals.

Bluffton keerp Julia Mehaffie had one save and Allen East’s Emma Tobe had six saves.
