WAPAKONETA — Jake Miller had two goals and Carter Jensen and Alex McGuire each had a single tally as Shawnee defeated Wapakoneta 4-0 in boys soccer Tuesday night.

Landon Hoehn made four saves to earn the shutout in goal.

St. Marys 4, Van Wert 0

Andrew Ibrahim had two goals and Adam Tobin and Ryan Ibrahim had a single tally each. Correy Nelson made two saves in earning the shutout in goal.

Fort Jennings 7, Paulding 1

Jack Sellman and Eric Wieging had two goals each and teammates Will Lucas, Chase Niedert and Jared Liebrecht had one tally each. Alejandro Hernandez had Paulding’s goal.

Kalida 1, Miller City 0

Drew Fersch had the match’s only goal. Brady Fersch made three saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Allen East 3, Temple Christian 2

Allen East’s Braylen Kennedy, Braelin Houston and Silas Gillespie and Temple Christian’s Preston Patrick and Dawson Clay each had a goal. Van Heffner had a pair of assists for Temple Christian.

Bath 0, Ottawa-Glandorf 0

O-G goalie Dylan Birkemeier had four saves and Bath counterpart Tanner Delecerda had two saves.

Bluffton 5, Van Buren 2

Jonathan Schriner had three goals and teammate Simon Derstine had a two.

Ottoville 2, Continental 1

Will Miller had two goals. Continental’s score occurred on an own goal.

Kenton 4, Defiance 0

Asher Bridenstine, Nick Anderson, Colby Wuay and Trevor Brown each had a goal.

Girls soccer

Cory-Rawson 2, Miller City 1

Cory-Rawson’s Lanie Kempf and Libby McVetta and Miller City’s Carley Hermiller each had a goal.

Boys cross country

Elida Invitational

ELIDA — Perry’s Brayden Yingst set a course record with a winning time of 15 minutes, 47.7 seconds. Columbus Grove (28 points) was the team champ with Grove’s Carson Closson (third), Caleb Stechschulte (fifth), Trent Koch (sixth) and Derek Birkemeier (eighth) all finishing in the top 10.

Van Wert (35) was second followed by Ottawa-Glandorf (111), Kenton (149), Elida (160), Lincolnview (182), Delphos St. John’s (196), Allen East (219), Bath (239), Lima Senior (251) and Wayne Trace (258).

Van Wert’s Hunter Sherer (second), Gage Wannemacher (fourth), Gage Springer (seventh) and Asanke Steyer (ninth) each finished among the top 10 as did Allen East’s Hunter Sidle (10th).

Girls cross country

Elida Invitational

ELIDA — Van Wert (49 points) won the team title followed by Delphos St. John’s (75), Columbus Grove (86), Kenton (88), Ottawa-Glandorf (104), Wayne Trace (144), Bath (178), Lima Senior (234) and Lincolnview (246).

O-G’s Alexa Fortman was the individual race winner with Grove’s Erin Downing, Van Wert’s Kyra Welch and Tyra McClain, Wayne Trace’s Kassidy Campbell, Kenton’s Sammie Unger, O-G’s Madelyn Hovest, Van Wert’s Rachel Spath, DSJ’s Rylee Pohlman and Wayne Trace’s Kiara Bahena finishing second through 10th respectively.

Girls golf

Mulcahys choose

University of Findlay

Lima Central Catholic seniors Mary Kelly and Erin Mulcahy have verbally committed to play for the University of Findlay.

The duo are pursuing their third straight Division II team championship as members of the Thunderbirds.

Mary Kelly has earned first-team all-state honors once and is a two-time second team member with Erin earning second-team honors once.

Boys golf

LCC 163, Celina 195

Medalist Ross Otto (38), Parker Judy (40), Brady Koenig (42) and Alex Wisser (43) combined for the winning total at the par 36 Oaks.

PCL tri match

Pandora-Gilboa (176) had the low total among Putnam County League teams competing at par 36 Moose Landing followed by Columbus Grove (196) and Miller City (206).

Medalist Blake Steiner (41), Jacob Suter (43), Eli Huffman (46) and Grant Farthing (46) combined for the winning total. Grove’s Noah Macke (43) and Miller City’s TJ Michel (48) had the low rounds for their respective schools.

NWC tri match

Allen East (170) had the low score among Northwest Conference competitors followed by Bluffton (182) and Paulding (187).

Medalist Zach Miller (38), Carter Frey (41), Noah Brown (42) and Cameron Hedrick (49) combined for the winning total. Bluffton’s Kenny Lovett (41) and Paulding’s Blake McGarvey (44) had the low rounds for their respective schools.

Girls tennis

Whitmer 3, Lima Senior 2

Singles players Abby Beck and Grace Beck won for Lima Senior.

Shawnee 5, LCC 0

LIMA — Singles players Kunmi Ojo, Aria Patel and Alora Patel and the doubles teams of Donna Bowers and Rose Kottapalli and Delaney Dawson and Cara DeBrosse.

Bath 3, Wapakoneta 2

Singles players Esther Bolon and Ruby Bolon and the doubles team of Elena Oliver and Anne Oliver won for Bath. Singles player Makenzie Schroeder and the doubles team of Bailey Barret and Abby Metzger won for Wapak.

Defiance 4, Kenton 1

Singles player Grace Collins won for Kenton.

St. Marys 4, Lehman Catholic 1

Singles players Charley Spencer, Grace Dodson and Suzie Good and the doubles team of Jodi Perry and Maddie White won for St. Marys.

No. 1 in coaches poll

Ottawa-Glandorf and New Bremen are ranked No. 1 in Divisions III and IV respectively in the latest Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association Poll.

Celina is No. 17 in D-II, Coldwater is tied for 18th in D-III and Marion Local (fourth), New Knoxville (sixth), Fort Recovery (eighth), St. Henry (13th), Jackson Center (17th), Lincolnview (18th) and Leipsic (19th) are ranked in D-IV.

Allen East 3, Ridgemont 0

The Mustangs won 25-12, 25-10, 25-15.

Hannah Williams had 10 aces and 23 assists and Soraya Jackson had nine kills for Allen East. Ridgemont stats were not reported by deadline.

Bluffton 3, Delphos Jefferson 0

The Pirates won 25-9, 25-15, 25-16. Kylie Stackhouse had 19 kills, Skyler Scoles had 39 assists, Kylie Monday had 17 digs and Taylor Schwab had five aces for Bluffton. Jefferson individual stats were not reported by deadline.

Miller City 3, Temple Christian 0

The Wildcats won 25-12, 25-16, 25-12. Abi Lammers had 17 kills and 14 digs; Abi Teders had four blocks, Lexi Banks had six aces, Adrienne Kuhlman had 32 assists and Tori Wendinger had 14 digs for Miller City.

Temple Christian Leaders: Cecelia Worsham had nine kills and four digs, Kaylee Linhart had 16 assists and Jessica Holloway had nine digs for Temple Christian.

The Wildcats won 25-16, 25-18, 25-22.

Ella Mescher had nine kills, Ava Sharp had 16 digs and Jayden Clune had 30 assists for Minster. St. Marys’ individual stats were not reported by deadline.

The Titans won 25-17, 25-18. 20-25, 25-20.

The Lancers won 25-23, 25-23, 25-15.

The Polar Bears fell 20-25, 15-25, 25-17, 25-18, 15-12.

The Thunderbirds won 15-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-17. Jacqueline Cutlip had 25 digs, Kennedy Parker had 16 kills. Abby Watliks had four blocks, Zoey Foster had 25 assists and Grace Hutjens had five aces for LCC. Ottoville’s individual stats were not reported by deadline.

The Flyers won 25-11, 25-19, 25-19.

Alana Pohlman had six kills, three aces and six blocks, Heidi Rethman had 20 assists and Kinsey Thobe had seven digs. Brooklyn Bourne had six kills and five aces, Summer Wilson had 12 digs and Payton Bertke had 16 assists for Celina.

The Indians won 25-8, 25-9, 25-21. Karrington Green had 13 kills and nine digs, Grace Freiberger had five aces, Alanah Best had three blocks and Addison Maxwell had 17 assists for Shawnee. Lima Senior’s individual stats were not reported by deadline.

Women’s golf

CARMEL, Ind. — St. Marys graduate Jill Schmitmeyer finished sixth individually as part of the University of Findlay squad that finished second at the Indianapolis Fall Invitational held at par 72 Prairie View Golf Club.

Schmitmeyer had a three-round total of 225, and the Oilers had a team score of 904. Indianapolis, led by medalist Cailyn Henderson’s 216, was the team winner with a 875 total.
