HIGH SCHOOL

Football

COLUMBUS — Lima Central Catholic was one of a number of area teams to appear in the first Ohio High School Football poll released Monday.

Despite a loss Saturday to Liberty-Benton, the Thunderbird (2-1) garnered the No. 5 position in the Division VII poll. Marion Local (3-0) owned the top spot in the division and New Bremen (2-1) came in 12 with Spencerville (3-0) making it in at No. 13.

In Division VI, Columbus Grove was ranked 14th overall. Coldwater was No. 1.

Kenton (2-1) was ranked eighth in Division IV and Van Wert (3-0) came in at No. 12.

Volleyball

Leipsic 3, Cory-Rawson 0

MT. CORY — Leipsic’s Serenity Siefer had 23 assists and Marisa Hermiller had 10 kills and five aces. Kasey Brough had five kills and three aces and Liz Scheckelhoff added eight kills. Peyton Heitmeyer was two has six kills and eight digs. Jacie Hermiller had 11 digs.

For Cory Rawson, Maddy Wellington had nine assists and eight digs and Alli Garmatter had seven kills and 10 digs. Averie Elchert had six digs and Karissa Welte had four kills, four digs and one block.

Minster 3, Lima Central Catholic 0

Minster won 25-15, 25-11 and 25-17.

Minster got seven kills and four digs from Brynn Oldiges and Ella Mescher, Dana Prenger and Ivy Wolf all had six kills. Wolf also recorded 15 digs and two aces. Jayden Clune had 31 digs. Oldiges also added three aces.

For LCC, Jacqueine Cutlip had 12 digs aned Kennedy Parker had eight kills and 11 digs. Emma Frueh had three blocks and Zoey Foster had 11 assists.

Bluffton 3, North Baltimore 0

NORTH BALTIMORE — Bluffton won 25-15, 25-18, 25-17.

Bluffton’s Kyle Stackhouse had 17 kills and one block and Taylor Schwab added 11 kills, seven digs and two aces. Haelyn Bischoff had nine kills. Skyler Scoles recorded 37 assists and three aces. Kylie Monday had 10 digs and three aces.

Bluffton improves to 6-2.

St. Henry 3, Elida 1

ST. HENRY — St. Henry won 24-14, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22

Elida’s Kylie Vorhees had 13 kills and 12 digs and Addisyn Freeman added seven kills and eight digs. Cadence Miller had 28 assists and 20 digs and McKenzie Miller had 13 digs and Lauren Engle added 10 digs.

Girls soccer

Bath 3, Ottawa-Glandorf 2

OTTAWA — Bath’s Chandler Clark scored two goals and recorded an assist and Tatum Walsh added another goal. Abbie Dackin and Karlie Wallace were credited with assists. For O-G, Clara Beach and Alexa Fortman each scored for the Titans. Bath improves to 7-0 for the season and 3-0 in the WBL. O-G falls to 5-1-1 and 1-1-1 in league play.

Wapakoneta 1, Shawnee 0

Wapakoneta’s Marisa Raney scored the lone goal. Wapakoneta keeperAllie Wilson made two saves and Shawnee Kaelan Swallow had eight saves.

Wapakoneta evens its record to 3-3-1 and 2-1 in the WBL and Shawnee falls 3-5 and 1-2 in WBL.

Celina 1, Elida 0

Celina’s Makenna Kinglshirm scored the lone goal.

Celina improves to 5-1-1 and 2-0-1 in the WBL.

Bluffton 4, Delphos Jefferson 1

DELPHOS — Bluffton’s Laykin Garmatter scored two goals and Reagan Mittendorf and Sami Scoles also scored. For Delphos Jefferson, Kyrstin Moore scored the Wildcats’ lone score. Mittenorf, Clara Matthews and Allison Diller all recorded assists.

Bluffton keeper Julie Mehaffie had no saves and Jefferson goalie Lillian Baugh had 18 saves.

Spencerville 11, Paulding 2

SPENCERVILLE — Paulding got goals from Trace McKinley and Alejandro Hernandez.

Girls tennis

Ottawa-Glandorf 5, Kenton 0

KENTON — Ottawa-Glandorf got singles wins from Emma Schmiedebusch, Sami Ellerbrock and Alsye Balbuagh and doubles wins from the team of Megan Ketner and Lauryn Bockrath and the duo of Claire Ellerbrock and Erica Siefer.

Celina 5, St. Marys 0

CELINA — Celina got singles wins from Kaylin Avers, Amy Hardings and Grace Scheider and doubles victories from the team of Kaylyn Saunders and Whitney Joens and the pair of Madina Davlatvoyeva and Michelle Elston.

Shawnee 5, Elida 0

Shawnee got singles wins from Kunmi Ojo, Aria Patel and Alora Patel and doubles wins from Donna Bowers and Rose Kottapalli and the team of Delaney Dawson and Cara DeBrosse.

Bath 3, Van Wert 2

VAN WERT — Bath got singles wins from Esther Bolon and Ruby Bolon and a doubles win from and doubles win from Elena Oliver and Anne Oliver . Van Wert got a singles win from Lizzie Rutkowski and a doubles win from Jamie Burenga and Tayzia Havill

Coldwater 193, Minster 204

MINSTER — Coldwater’s Jordan Hemmelgarn had the low score for the team with a 47. Other Cav scores were Grace Buschur 48, Lexi Wright 49 and Laney Finke 49.

Boys golf

Lincolnview 185, Delphos Jefferson 192, Crestview 216, Ada 237

DELPHOS Delphos Jefferson’s Logan Gallmeier was the medalist with a score of 37. Other Wildcat scores were Isaac Gallmeier 49, Caden Carder 52 and Brady DuVall and Kayden Slygh with 54s.

For Lincolnview, Evan Miller had the low score with a 43. Other Lancer scores were Avery Slusher 44, Dane Ebel with a 47 and Landon Price with a 51.

Crestview’s Will Sharp had the low team score with a 2. Other Knight scores were Trey Skelton 53, Tanner Myers 55 and Evan Scarlett with a 56.

Ada’s Drew Rush had a 55 for the team’s low score. Other Bulldog scores were Jacob Morgan 59, Geddes Kingler 61 an Dexter Woods 62.

Elida 171, Van Wert 172

VAN WERT — Elida’s Carson Harmon and Cameron Collins hadlow scores of 41. Other Bulldog score are Hunter Jolliff 42 and Bryce Engle 47.

For Van Wert, Cam Terhark was the medalist with a 37. Other Cougar scores were Evan Knittle 42, Jace Fast 45 and Lochlen Permort 48.

Shawnee 171, Kenton 211

Shawnee’s Justin Altenbach was the medalist with a 40. Other Shawnee scores were Soloman Smith 43, Jack Shively 43 and Colton Morris 45.

For Kenton Luke Hites had a 43 for the Wildcats’ team score. Other scores were Ethan Wirbel 47 and Noah Ketchum 48.

Shawnee improves to 8-0 and Kenton falls to 1-7.

New Knoxville 200, New Bremen 200

MINSTER — New Knoxville’s Sam Anspach was the medalist with a 47. Other Ranger scores were Max Henschen and Brandon Smith with 49s.

Minster 179, Coldwater 179

MINSTER — Minster won the match due to having a better score with the sixth golfer. Cavs’ Carson Muhlenkamp had the low score with a 40. Other Coldwater scores were Ben Giere 45, Nick Kline 46, Keegan Bruggeman 48, Keaton Bruns 49, and Hayden Beougher 56.

Parkway 199, Marion Local 204

CELINA — Parkway’s Adam Stephenson was the medalist with a 45. Other team scores were Hunter Bruns 48, Kaden Boroff 52 and Hunter Gibson and Roman Leszinke 53s.

For Minster, Marcus Rethman led the team with a 48. Other team scores were Logan Fleck 50, Dave Goeetemoeller 53 and Cole Arling 53.

Boys soccer

Allen East 3, Lincolnview 2

MIDDLE POINT — Lincolnview got goals from Justin Braun and Reece Berryman. Ariel Pruden was credited with an assist.

St. Marys 7, Lehman 1

ST. MARYS — Roughrider Joey Vanderhorst scored two goals and had an assist and Kyle Steinger had two goals. Adam Tobin had two goals and an assist. Andrew Ibrahim had a goal and Ryan Ibrahim, Aiden Jeffries and Charlie Krebs had an assists. St. Marys keeper notched seven saves.
