Roundup: Columbus Grove, Lincolnview win boys cross country titles

DELPHOS — Columbus Grove and Lincolnview won boys team division titles at Saturday’s Blue Jay Invitational cross country event.

Columbus Grove (48 points) won the Blue Division team championship followed by Anna (51), Van Wert (73), Liberty Center (113), Bluffton (118), Van Buren (151), 7. Bath 213, 8. Allen East 220, 9. Swanton 222.

Anna’s Hayden Schmit was the race winner with Van Wert’s Hunter Sherer and Columbus Grove’s Trent Koch and Caleb Stechschulte finishing third through fifth.

Lincolnview (44 points) was the Gold Division champ followed by Kalida (74), Antwerp (93), Delphos St. John’s (93), Waynesefield-Goshen (111), Leipsic (122), Ottoville (159) and Lima Central Catholic (203).

Perry’s Braden Yingst was the race winner with Kalida’s Ryan Lucke and Collin Heitmeyer, Lincolnview’s Daegan Hatfield and Waynesfield-Goshen’s Alec Spangler finishing second through fifth.

Versailles Invitational

VERSAILLES — Minster won the team title followed by. Russia (59), Versailles (64), Jackson Center (108) and Fairlawn (129).

Minster’s Alex Albers was the race winner and teammate Josh Niekamp finished fifth.

Girls Cross Country

Versailles Invitational

VERSAILES — Minster’s Taylor Roth, Mason Pohl, Maggie Hemmelgarn and Ella Boate finished first through fourth and teammate Chaney Cedarleaf was sixth as the Wildcats claimed the team title with 16 points followed by Versailles (55) and Russia (67).

Blue Jay Invitational

DELPHOS — Waynesfield-Goshen’s Taylor Spencer followed by Lincolnview’s Madison Langdon and Leipsic’s Lola Wensink. Van Wert’s Kyra Welch was fifth.

Anna (61 points) was the team winner followed by Delphos St. John’s (69), Van Wert (77), Columbus Grove (110), Lincolnview (166), Antwerp (176), Waynesfield-Goshen (194), Bath (206), Leipsic (206), Spencerville (252) and Ottoville (262).

Volleyball

Shawnee 3, Arlington 0

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The hosts won 25-12, 25-15, 25-22. Kyra DeSantiago had 18 assists, Karrington Green had nine kills, Alanah Best had seven blocks and Gracie Freiberger had 11 digs for Shawnee.

Marion Local 3, St. Marys 1

MARIA STEIN — The Flyers won 25-16, 25-16, 22-25, 25-18. Reagan Kremer had 12 kills, Heidi Rethman had 21 assists, Nora Eckstein had 14 digs and Alana Pohlman had six aces and six solo blocks for Marion Local. St. Marys’ individual stats werenot reported by deadline

Lima Central Catholic 3, Bath 0

The Thunderbirds won 25-11, 25-11, 25-21. Kennedy Parker had 16 kills, Zoey Foster had 32 assists and Jacqueline Cutlip had 15 digs for LCC. Bath’s individual stats were not reported by deadline.

Celina 3, Parkway 0

The Bulldogs won 25-21, 25-22, 29-27. Maria Lutz had nine kills, Payton Bertke had 29 assists and Summer Wilson had 11 digs for Celina. Parkway’s individual stats were not reported by deadline.

Boys soccer

Lincolnview 4, LCC 0

Justin Braun had two goals and Clayton Leeth and Ariel Pruden had one tally each as the Lancers moved to 1-1-2 on the season.

Lexington 6, Shawnee 2

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Jake Miller had both Shawee goals.

Ottoville 6, Fort Jennings 0

Will Horstman, Caden Edelbrock, Kellen Schlagbaum, Trey Landwehr, Preston Mansfield and Will Miller each had a goal.

Girls Tennis

Bluffton 5, Lima Senior 0

LIMA — Singles players Julia Smallcombe, Olivia Barnes and Pearl Lewandoswki and the doubles teams of Libby Frazier and Ellie Nickel and Caitlyn Couch and Ellison Pugsley all won matches at Collett Street courts.

Liberty Center 7, Cory-Rawson 2

LIBERTY CENTER — Zoe Chisholm had both Cory-Rawson goals.

Shawnee 6, Maumee 0

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Claire Huff had three goals and Kennedy Jensen, Bri Ridenour and Riley Smith had one tally each. Kaelan Swallow made a pair of saves to get the shutout in goal.

Celina 4, Ottoville 0

OTTOVILLE — Carley Eichler had two goals and Jena Wilson and Mia Rolfes had one tally each.
