Girls basketball: Lima Central Catholic edges Van Wert

VAN WERT — Mary Kelly Mulcahy converted four free throws inside the final minute and three of her four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as Lima Central Catholic defeated Van Wert 48-47 in girls high school basketball Saturday.

Mulcahy finished with 17 points and Rose Williams scored 22 also for LCC (12-9). Sofia Houg had 12 points and Jamison Clouse scored 11 for the host Cougars (6-15).

Delphos St. John’s 53,

Ottoville 46

OTTOVILLE — Paige Gaynier had 19 points and Aubrie Friemoth scored nine for DSJ (10-12). Nicole Knippen had 19 points and Alexa Honigford scored 11 for the host Big Green (13-8).

Bluffton 53,

Miller City 49

BLUFFTON — Kayla White had 15 points and Libby Schaadt scored 10 for the host Pirates (14-8). Natalie Koenig had 16 points and Abi Lammers scored 11 for the Wildcats (11-8).

Kalida 41, Leipsic 23

KALIDA — Grace Klausing had nine points and McKayla Maag and Carlie Rampe each scored eight for the Wildcats (13-7, 4-3 Putnam Country League). Whitney Langhals had eight points and Ally Kirkendall scored five for the Vikings (10-9, 3-4 PCL).

Kenton 80,

Waynesfield-Goshen 41

KENTON — Jenna Manns (24), Makenzie Bays (14) and Lindsey Smith (10) each scored in double digits for the Wildcats (8-11). Jordan Elliott had 12 points and Rylie Barrington scored 10 for W-G (4-16).

St. Marys 51, Russia 34

RUSSIA — Kendall Dieringer had 15 points and Noelle Ruane scored 10 for the visiting Roughriders (16-5).
