UNOH named NABC

Team of the Week

LIMA — The University of Northwestern Ohio men’s team has been named the NAIA National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team of the Week, the association announced Tuesday.

UNOH went 2-0 last week, starting with a 60-53 victory at Lawrence Tech 60-53 on January 22 to pick up its first win of the season on an opponent’s home court. The Racers then won their fourth consecutive home game and its second straight over a ranked opponent on January 25, knocking off No. 22 Madonna 75-66 at The Garage.

UNOH also earned a victory Monday night as Lima Senior grad Elijah Pughsley’s 3-pointer with 44 seconds remaining lifted the Racers to a 55-52 road decision against NAIA Division I member Thomas More.

With the victory against Thomas More, UNOH extended its winning streak to three straight and has now won five of its last six games and six of its last nine.

The Racers (8-15) return to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play with a 3 p.m. Saturday game at Concordia.
