LIMA — Lima Central Catholic head volleyball coach Wes Horstman submitted his coaching resignation last Friday.

Horstman led the program for 11 seasons (178-94), including four district runners-up and one district championship in 2011. The Thunderbirds finished 19-6 this past season. Horstman, a mathematics and social studies teacher at LCC who resides in Rockford, cited time constraints within his family, and an intent to further his education as the reasons for his resignation.

He will continue teaching at LCC. LCC Athletic Director John Schnieders will be accepting applications to fill the open position beginning Dec. 2.
