COLUMBUS — With its win against defending state champ McComb, Leipsic (8-1) is atop the Region 26, Division VII standings in the latest Ohio High School Athletic Association weekly football computer ratings released Tuesday afternoon.

Lima Central Catholic (8-1) is second in Region 23, D-VI with Coldwater (8-1) third, Allen East (8-1) sixth, Minster (8-1) seventh and Spencerville (6-3) ninth.

The top eight schools from each region in the final report Nov. 3 will qualify for the playoffs.

Wapakoneta (8-1) is third and St. Marys (7-2) is fourth in Region 12, D-III

In Division IV, Ottawa-Glandorf (7-2) is fourth in Region 14 and Kenton (7-2) is fifth in Region 16.

In Region 28, D-VII, Marion Local (7-2) is third, Perry (6-3) is fifth, New Bremen (7-2) is sixth, Waynesfield-Goshen (7-2) is eighth and Hardin Northern (7-2) is ninth. W-G plays at Hardin Northern at 7 p.m. Friday.

Erin and Mary Kelly Mulcahy of state champion Lima Central Catholic received first-team all-district honors in Division II. Joining them on the first team was St. Henry’s Ellen Naumann. LCC’s Daniel Reinicke was selected the coach of the year.

LCC’s Emma Mayers and Bridget Mulcahy received honorable mention recognition.

FORT JENNINGS — The Musketeers’ Kristen Luersman has signed a letter of intent to play for Ohio Northern beginning in the 2020-21 season.

top 10 in poll

ADA — Ohio Northern moved into the top 10 at No. 10 in the ninth weekly American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll.

The Polar Bears received 1,176 points, 41 more than in the eighth weekly poll when ONU was ranked No. 10.

Ohio Northern was ranked No. 11 for three consecutive weeks in the sixth, seventh and eighth weekly polls.

Chicago (Ill.) remained in first place this week with 1,946 points and 75 first place votes. Emory (Ga.) moved to second with 1,853 points and one first place vote and Carthage (Wis.) moved up to third with 1,720 points.

ONU (22-5) fell to 7-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference on Tuesday night with a 26-24, 22-25, 25-12, 22-25, 15-13 home loss to Otterbein (22-5, 6-2 OAC).

Chelsea Huppert had 12 kills, Sydney Bapst had 11 kills, Katie Wade had 43 assists and 12 digs, Hannah Irmer had three aces and 12 digs and Kristin Langston had 11 digs for ONU.

ADA — The Ohio Northern women’s soccer team (13-2-2) moved up one spot to No. 20 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Polar Bears are also receiving votes in the D3soccer.com top 25.

Messiah (Pa.) claimed the top spot in the United Soccer Coaches Poll for the second consecutive week, while William Smith (N.Y.) and Washington (Mo.) rounded out the top three. Ohio Athletic Conference member Otterbein was ranked No. 17.
