Roundup: Miller City snags district volleyball crown

NAPOLEON — Miller City defeat Putnam County foe Leipsic 25-19, 20-25, 16-25, 25-18, 18-16 in a Division IV district volleyball final Thursday night.

The Wildcats will play Tiffin Calvert, a 25-9, 25-15, 25-11 winner against New Riegel, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Elida.

Abi Teders had 10 kills, Abi Lammers had 22 kills and 25 digs, Sofie van Wezel had eight kills, five blocks and 10 digs, Cayla Troyer had 30 digs and four aces, Kiana Gable had 17 digs and Adrienne Kuhlman had 40 assists and 15 digs for Miller City.

Lyndie Hazelton had 56 assists and 10 digs, Peyton Heitmeyer had 22 kills and 22 digs, Liz Scheckelhoff had 15 kills, Marisa Hermiller had 10 kills, Brooke Brown had 30 digs and Aubree Schroeder had four aces for the Vikings.

St. Henry 3, Fort Recovery 2

KALIDA — The Redskins won 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, 25-16, 15-11 and will play New Bremen, a 25-20, 25-14, 19-25, 25-22 winner against Marion Local, in a Division IV regional semifinal at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Elida.

Brooke Kahlig had 18 digs, Olivia Patch had seven kills and seven blocks, Chloe Showalter had 13 aces and 22 assists, Paige Fortkmap had three aces, 16 kills and 16 digs, Kierra Wendel had 23 digs, Whitley Rammel had seven kills and five blocks and Hope Wendel had 17 assists for Fort Recovery.

FINDLAY — Liberty-Benton advanced to the regionals with at 29-31, 25-9, 25-15, 25-16 victory.
