Roundup: Bath’s Bolons finish third at tennis district

PORT CLINTON — Bath’s Ruby and Esther Bolon finished third in doubles at Saturday’s Division II girls tennis district.

The Bolons defeated Shawnee’s Katie Clark and Alotus Wei 6-0, 6-1 after falling 7-5, 6-4 to Toledo Central Catholic’s Bella and Lucia Spinazze in the semifinals. The Spinazzes went on to win the championship. Clark and Wei fell 6-2, 6-2 in the semis to Ottawa Hills’ Priya Bhatt and Abbie Westmyer.

The Bolons and the Shawnee duo had already advance to the state tournament by reaching the district semifinals. The state tourney will be held Friday and Saturday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

No Lima area D-I players or D-II singles players made it to the district semifinals.

Toledo Bowsher 2

Noah Phillips had two goals and Ryan Utendorf and Caden Fry had one tally each as the Spartans advanced in the Division I sectons to play Tuesday against Toledo St. John’s.

LCC 2, Liberty Center 1

Josiah Simpson and Colin Guagenti had LCC’s goals. Teammate Zack Zerante made three saves in goal.

Girls soccer

Riverdale 3, Miller City 2

Madison Ellerbrock and Ava Rosengarten had Miller City’s goals.

Columbus Grove 3, Crestiview 1

The match’s goal scorers were not reported.

The Mustangs won 25-17, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19. Anamya Truex had 19 kills and five blocks, Hannah Williams had eight aces and 20 assists, Madie Treglia had 19 digs and Alivia Craig had 14 digs for Allen East.

Delphos Jefferson 3, Temple Christian 0

The Wildcats won 25-7, 25-17, 25-14.

Cecelia Worsham had seven kills and five digs, Kaylee Linhart had six digs and 11 assists, Jessica Holloway had eight digs and Haley Walters had three blocks for Temple Christian.

LCC 3, Shawnee 1

The Thunderbirds won 25-17, 22-25, 27-25, 25-14.

Jaylen Roehm had 15 kills, Jocelyn Morrisey had 17 kills, Rosie Williams had 16 kills and three blocks, Hannah Riepenhoff had 44 assists and three aces, Victoria Lauck had 16 digs and Jacqueline Cutlip had three aces for LCC.

Kelsey Fischbach had 29 assists, 13 digs, five blocks and three aces, Karrington Green had 11 kills and eight digs, Trinity Gearing had 10 kills and six blocks, Alannah Best had 11 blocks and six digs and Paige Maxwell had 23 digs for Shawnee.

Columbus Grove 0

The Titans won 25-16, 25-19, 25-5. Claire Eiden had 19 digs, Taylor Alt had 11 kills and nine aces, Erica Annesser had nine kills, Erin Kaufman had six kills, Miya Ellerbrock had 12 digs and Brianna Schimoeller had 25 assists for O-G.
