Roundup: Ottawa-Glandorf wins Crestview volleyball invitational

CONVOY — Ottawa-Glandorf defeated St. Henry 25-21, 17-25, 25-17 Saturday to win the Fricker’s Lady Knight Volleyball Invitational at Crestview.

O-G’s Taylor Alt was MVP and was joined on the all-tourney team by teammate Clair Eiden, St. Henry’s Nora Vaughan and Hannah Bruns, Marion Local’s Brooke Hohman and Norwalk St. Paul’s Megan Hammersmith and Dylann Knoll.

St. Paul finished third followed by Marion Local, Crestview, Celina, Milan Edison and Arlington.

Van Wert tourney

VAN WERT — New Bremen defeated New Knoxville 12-25, 25-18, 25-23 in the championship match.

Earlier, New Knoxville defeated Versailles 25-12, 20-25, 25-17 and St. Marys 25-12, 25-21. Shawnee defeated St. Marys 25-22, 20-25, 25-22 and lost to Versailles 25-20, 25-11 and Van Wert 27-25, 25-23. Elida defeated Van Wert 25-14, 22-25, 25-18 and lost to New Bremen 25-14, 25-11 and Versailles 18-25, 25-22, 25-22. Kalida lost to St. Marys 25-10, 25-15, Van Wert 25-16, 25-21 and New Bremen 25-5, 25-10.

Fort Loramie 3,

Fort Recovery 2

Fort Recovery fell 21-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-11. Paige Fortkamp had 22 kills and 19 digs, Whitley Rammel had 19 kills and seven blocks, Chloe Showalter ha 20 assists and Hope Wendel had 30 assists for Fort Recovery.

Lima Senior 3,

Continental 0

The Spartans won 25-22, 27-25, 25-17. Sophie Joliff had nine kills and 10 digs, Cheyanne Bean had nine kills, Lauren Zell had 26 assists, Kathy Hook had five aces and Alleah Julien had 15 digs for Lima Senior.

Pandora-Gilboa 3,

Hardin Northern 0

The Rockets won 25-13, 25-6, 25-18. Alex Jackson had six kills for P-G.

Girls soccer

Chandler Clark had five goals and teammates Rachel Clark, Annika Wilker and Olivia Stolly had one tally each. LCC’s goal scorers were not reported by deadline.

Kalida 2, Bluffton 1

BLUFFTON — Kalida’s Livia Recker and Jordyn Vandemark and Bluffton’s Kayla White each had a goal.

Elida 9, Fort Jennings 0

Analei Jackson and Lacie Moening had two goals each and Brooke Reese, Kennedy Howard, Bella Wallace, Amarie Christoff and Payton Kuhn had one tally each.

Kolya Paschall had two goals and Andrew Adams had a single tally. Dominic Carnahan made eight saves in earning the shutout in goal.

Bath 4, Temple Christian 0

Keaton Liles had two goals and Miguel Reyes and Zach Garza had one tally each. Brenton Brock made two saves in earning the shutout in goal.

Celina 1, Kalida 0

Jaden Jones had the match’s only goal. Dalton Leiss made seven saves in earning the shutout in goal. Kalida counterpart Brayden Recker made five saves.

Girls tennis

Singles players Olivia Kesner and Anna Janowski and the doubles teams of Madie Brinkman and Morgan Chaney and Nicole Patricio-Agosto and Paige Brinkman won for LCC (15-2)

PAULDING — Columbus Grove’s Alex Schneider set a school record with 196 receiving yards in the Bulldogs’ 47-9 victory Friday night against Paulding. Schneider finished with six catches, three of which resulting in touchdowns, tying a school mark.
