COLUMBUS — Wapakoneta (3-0) is ranked N0. 4 in the Division III in the first Associated Prep Poll released Monday.
The Redskins are coming off a win over Van Wert to go 2-0 in the Western Buckeye League. The Redskins take on Shawnee (3-0) Friday night.
In Division VI, Coldwater (3-0) is ranked No. 1 followed by Midwest Athletic Conference foe Anna (3-0). Minster came in ranked No. 5.
Leipsic (3-0), who faced rival Pandora-Gilboa (2-1) Friday, are ranked eighth overall in Division VII. McComb (3-0) is ranked No. 1 overall and Marion Local (2-1) was ranked third. Ft. Loramie was ranked No. 9 and New Bremen also received votes.

Elida’s Carson Harmon was the medalist with a 38. Other Elida scores were Gavin Harmon (40), Ethan Harmon (42), Hunter Jolliff (42), Dylan Buettner (44) and Riley Creps (46). For Defiance, Will Lammers recorded the low score for the squad with a 40. Other Defiance scores were Jack VAnderhorst (42), Jayden Jerger (44), Dave Jimenez (48) and Jack Martiel (49).
Kalida 169, Shawnee 176
Shawnee’s Justin Altenbach and Justin Siebeneck shared medalist honors after both posted 41s. Other Indians scores were Soloman Smith (42), Matthew Azzarello (46) and Colin Pasion (47). For Kalida, Josh Recker and Grace Miller posted 42s and Alec Eldelbrock notched a 44.
Kalida improves to 10-1 and Shawnee falls to 5-5.

SIDNEY — Minster’s Grant Koenig earned medalist honors with a 37. Other Minster scores were Joseph Magoto (40), Jacob Wissman (41), Logan Sharp (41), Ethan Lehkuhl (42) and Grant Voisard (45). ,

SIDNEY — New Knoxville’s Brandon Smith shot a 41 and Trent Lehman posted a 47.
Ottawa-Glandorf 2, Van Wert 0
VAN WERT — Ottawa-Glandorf got goals from Austin Birkemeier and Cory Warnecke and Jaden Lehman recorded an assist. Titan Goalie Ethan Alt made five saves to preserve the shutout. Van Wert keepers Taylor Spring and Cody Gamble each had three saves.

DEFIANCE — Elida’s Ethan Thomas and Draek Littler each had two goals and Tyler Long added a score. Austin Miller, Thomas, Littler and Aiden Bartels were credited with assists.

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove won 25-20, 25-18 and 25-21. Columbus Grove’s Angel Schneider had 10 kills and Cassie Heilman added eight and notched four aces. Lauren Benroth had 15 assists and Becca Choi had 16 assists.
St. Marys 3, Botkins 0
ST. MARYS — St. Marys won 25-14, 25-13 and 27-25. Roughrider Sam Ackroyd had 12 kills and two digs and Claire Bertke added 10 kills and four digs. Carly Caywood had seven kills and four digs. Abbie Young had 21 assists and eight digs. Cherissa Priddy notched 11 digs and three assists.

ARLINGTON — Leipsic won 25-19, 25-16 nd 25-15. Leipsic’s Liz Scheckelhoff had nine kills and teammate Peyton Heitmeyer added eight. Lyndie Hazelton had 26 assists and five aces and Kasey Brough had two aces and five kills and Joce Hermiller had 13 digs and five kills. Brooke Brown had 13 kills and Marisa Hemiller added four kills and three blocks.

CELINA — Fort Recovery won 25-18, 25-13 amd 29-27. Fort Recovery’s Kierre Wendel had three aces, three assists and 10 digs and Hpe Wendel had one ace, 10 assists and three digs. Paige Fortkamp had seven kills, seven digs and two blocks and Paige Jutte had six kills, one dig and three blocks.

CONTINETAL — Continental won 25-19, 25-12 and 25-19. Continetal’s Kennedy Hiltner had 10 kills, two aces and 15 digs. Tygre Troyer had four kills, four block assists and two aces and Mackenzie Rayle had four kills, 21 assists and three aces. Madelyn Potts had four kills, 10 digs and one ace.
Miller City 4, Columbus Grove 1
NEW CLEVELAND — Miller City goal goals from Lexi Heuerman, Kayleen Maas, Madison Ellerbrock and Hallie Kamphaus. Ellerbrock added two assists and Heuerman and Ava Rosengarten each were credited with assists. Columbus Grove’s lone score came from Emily Watt. Miller City keeper Natalie Koenig made 13 saves.

Shawnee got singles wins from Aria Patel, Kunmi Ojo and Alora Patel and doubles victories from the duo of Alotus Wei and Katie Clark and the team of Donna Bowers and Hannah Paton

OTTAWA- Ottawa-Glandorf got singles wins from Emma Schmiedebusch and Alyse Balbaugh and the doubles duo of Megan Ketner and Lauryn Bockrath and the pair of Claire Ellerbrock and Sami Ellerbrock. Kenton’s Mykaela Schriber scored a singles win for the Wildcats.

Van Wert got a singles win by Lizzie Rutkowski and doubles wins from Paige Moonshower and Allie Etter and the pair of Kaylee Jennings and Jada Buckner. Bath got singles wins from Esther Bolon and Ruby Bolon.

DELPHOS — Fort Recovery’s Jaylin Bruns shot a 42 to earn medalist honors. Other Indian scores were Shelby Stammen (44), Alli Vaughn (55), Macy Brunswick (53), Paige Bihn (60) and Kendra Dues (62) Wapakoneta’s Taylor West recorded the low score for the Redskins with a 43. Other Redskin scores were Madison Sams (48), Jackie Oen (51), Paige Knapke (53), Emma Tirrell (54) and Olivia Place (66). For Delphos Jefferson, Alivia Carpenter had 46 followed by Kaylee Buzard with a 52. Other Wildcat scores were Anna Fitch (54), Emma Mueller (54), Sydnie McGue (57) and Riley Smith (58).
Bluffton athlete honored
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Alexis Cash (Gaines, MI/Lake Fenton) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.
The two-time Heartland Conference champion earned her first HCAC Runner of the Week honor for the Beavers. Cash finished in 10th place (24:03.5) for the 8-kilometer race at Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday.
The talented senior will now begin training for the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University on Sept. 28. The race is slated for 1 p.m.

HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Junior Zach Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) scored in the 71st minute to lead the Ohio Northern men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory at NAIA foe Huntington (Ind.) on Monday afternoon at King Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-2-1 with their third consecutive win.
The Foresters, who received votes in the latest NAIA poll, fall to 5-2-1 after seeing their 4-match win streak snapped.
Yoder scored his sixth career goal and his first of the season with 19:52 left in the match to snap a scoreless tie.
Sophomore John Lombardo (Solon) picked up his fourth shutout of the season and the eighth of his career and has run his scoreless streak to 270:13 over the past four matches.
Ohio Northern out-shot Huntington 12-6.
ONU player honored
ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore John Lombardo (Solon) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts on a pair of ONU victories Sept. 9-15.
Lombardo helped the Polar Bears to shutout wins of No. 7-Ohio Wesleyan (1-0) and Oberlin (4-0) last week.
He had eight saves in the two wins.
It is the second time in his career that Lombardo has won the award, gaining the honor as a freshman on Oct. 1, 2018.
This season, Lombardo has 27 saves and a 1.29 goals against average.
ONU receiver recognized
ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Austin Eick (Rossford) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in ONU’s 39-10 win at Muskingum on Saturday.
Eick had a career-day, catching eight passes for 136 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Polar Bears (1-1 overall, 1-0 OAC).
His four touchdown passes came in a 12:16 span in the second and third quarters, helping ONU turn a 10-3 deficit into a 32-10 lead.
This season, Eick leads the team with 12 receptions for 175 yards and five touchdowns.
