Roundup: Bath, Shawnee, LCC win in girls soccer

Chandler Clark converted three goals as Bath (2-2) defeated Kalida 6-0 in girls soccer Saturday.

Jenna Wireman, Madelyn Renner and Faith Kindig also each had a goal and Ainsley Miller finished with five assists.

Shawnee 3, Maumee 0

Tessa Jordan and two goals and Sophia Fusillo also had a tally as Shawnee improved to 3-1-1 on the season. Goalie Kaelen Swallow made five saves in earning the shutout.

LCC 4, Fort Jennings 0

LIMA — Annika Wilker had three goals and Sophia Santaguida a single tally for Lima Central Catholic. Madalena Knotts got the shutout in goal.

Miller City 0, Defiance 0

MILLER CITY — Natalie Koenig had 13 saves for Miller City (2-1-1)

Ottawa-Glandorf 7,

Columbus Grove 0

Kelsey Erford had three goals and Lily Haselman, Darian Manning, Aubrey Schnipke and Hannah Verhoff had one tally each. Abby Warnecke made six saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Girls golf

Thunderbird Invitational

LIMA — Lima Central Catholic (329) finished second behind Uruline Academy (313) at par-72 Lost Creek Golfers Club.

LCC’s Mary Kelly Mulcahy won a scoreboard playoff for medalist honors after shooting a 75 to tie Ursuline Academy’s Eleanor Hudepohl for the low round of the tournament. LCC’s Erin Mulcahy had the third lowest round with 76 while Emma Mayers and Bridget Mulcahy each finished with 89s to also contribute to the Thunderbirds’ total.

Jackson High School (343), Notre Dame Academy (345) and Benjamin Logan (356) all finished in the top five among the 11 that posted team scores.

Boys soccer

Bluffton 4, Jonathan Alter 1

Jonathan Schriner ahd three goals and Jude Spallinger had a single tally for Bluffton.

Kalida 4, Bath 1

BATH TOWNSHIP — Drew Fersch had two goals and Kalida’s Evan Roebke and Evan Stechschulte and Bath’s Keaton Liles had one each.

Ottawa-Glandorf 2, Bryan 2

Derek Crumrine and Mitch Schroeder each had a goal for O-G.

Archbold 6, Fort Jennings 0

FORT JENNINGS — The hosts fell to 0-5 on the season.

Girls tennis

Bluffton 5, Lima Senior 0

BLUFFTON — Singles players Erin Hotmire, Olivia Barnes and Ellison Pugsley and the doubles teams of Pearl Lewandowski and Julie Smallcombe

and the Ellie Nickel and Libby Frazier all won.

Volleyball

Allen East 3, Waynesfield-Goshen 0

The Mustangs won 25-11, 25-8, 25-18. Anamya Truex had 15 kills and four blocks, Kristin Whitley had 13 kills and four blocks and Hannah Williams had 29 assists for Allen East.

Ada wins twice

The Bulldogs defeated Arlington 25-23, 25-19 and Hardin Northern 25-23, 25-21.

Against Arlington, Megan Light had 13 digs, 11 kills and three blocks, Miranda Wills had 10 digs and eight kills, Kirsten Poling had 14 assists and Kendal Guagenti had 13 digs.

Against Hardin Northern, Light had 13 kills, Wills had 12 digs and seven kills, Poling had 17 assists and Guagenti had 17 digs.

Boys golf

Madison Invitational

MANSFIELD — Elida (317) won the 14-team event with Ashland (322), Findlay (324), Lexington (330) and Wooster (331) also finishing among the top five Friday at Oak Tree Golf Club.

Medalist runner-up Carson Harmon (74), Gavin Harmon (76), Ethan Harmon (81) and Hunter Jolliff (86) contributed to Elida’s winning score.

Versailles Tiger Invitational

VERSAILLES — Minster won the 13-hole rain-shortened event with a 13 over par total followed by Coldwater (32 over). Minster’s Joseph Magoto was medalist at 1 under par. Coldwater’s Carson Muhlenkamp (5 over), Jack Gerker (3 over) of Delphos St. John’s, St. Henry’s Reed Koesters and Nate Niekamp (10 over each), Parkway’s Caden Slusher (15 over), Marion Local’s Bryce Moeller (17 over) and New Bremen’s Devon Thieman and Preston Hoehne (23 over each) had the low rounds for their respective schools.
