Medalist Jack Gerber (37), Jared Lucas (38), Trent Lindeman (42) and Jeffrey Odenwell (42) contributed to the winning total. Trent Lehman led New Knoxville with a 47.

ADA — For the third consecutive season, Ohio Northern will begin the season ranked nationally in the top 25. The Polar Bears were ranked 23rd nationally in the AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday.
Northern collected 208 points to tie for 23rd with Bowdoin (Me.). Emory (Ga.) topped the poll with 1,650 points and 52 first-place votes, while Calvin (Mich.) and Juniata (Pa.) rounded out the top three.
ONU opens the season against a couple of ranked foes. The Polar Bears host No. 13 Illinois Wesleyan, No. 2 Calvin and No. 6 Wittenberg as part of the ONU Invitational Aug. 30-31.

LIMA — University of Northwestern Ohio head coach Caleb Williams has announced the additions of Sterling Johnson as assistant coach and Jeff Willis as graduate assistant coach.
Johnson comes to UNOH after three years as an assistant coach at Defiance, the last two as the top assistant in the program. He was involved in several areas such as recruiting, strength and conditioning, academics, practices and film breakdown. A native of Clinton Township, Michigan, Johnson played at Saginaw Valley State for four seasons
Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Management from Saginaw Valley State in 2016 and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Defiance earlier this year.
Willis joins the Racer staff after serving as the head assistant of the post graduate program at the DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida. There he worked primarily with the post-graduate programs while also contributing to all aspects of basketball operations.
A four-year letter winner at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, Willis was a 1,000-point scorer and a three-year team captain for the Swedes. He received two bachelor’s degrees — one in sports management and the other in business administration with a minor in coaching — there in 2018. Willis will be pursuing a master’s degree in business
administration while at UNOH.
