OTTAWA — Britton Hall shot a 1-over-par 73 in winning the boys 16-18 division for the low round during Thursday’s
Lima Junior Golf Association — McDonald’s Junior Series Weisenburger Builders Open at Moose Landing Country Club.
Ethan Ricketts was second with a 74.
Ellen Naumann was the girls 16-18 champ with an 84 followed by Kenadie Daeger, who shot 88.
Zach Miller defeated Andrew Moore and Liam Harris in a playoff for the boy 14-15 title after each shot 93. Moore then went on to win the playoff for second place.
In the par-36 nine-hole competition, Louis Magoto was the boys 12-13 champ with a 43, two shots lower than runner-up Connor Nartker. Kayla Nartker was the girls 15 and younger winner with a 47. Second place Kallie Mckinley shot a 62.
CINCINNATI — The Bengals Thursday signed Ottawa-Glandorf graduate Dan Godsil.
Godsil, a rookie, spent the last four seasons as a long snapper at Indiana University, where he played in 50 career games. He had been waived by Tampa Bay in May.

DES MOINES, Iowa — With a personal best time of 50.84 seconds, Bluffton graduate Trevor Bassitt from Ashland University advanced to today’s semifinals of the 400-meter hurdles at the USATF Outdoor Championships at Drake University. Bassitt was fifth in his heat and 15th overall. He also scheduled to compete in the 110 hurdles Saturday.
