LIMA — The sounds of racing are back. After last week’s open date, the Stocks, Modifieds and NRA Sprints return Friday night for the UNOH 22nd Anniversary Night — presented by Stolly Insurance Group at Limaland Motorsports Park. The pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.

Jeff Koz is one of the drivers looking to get back on the winning track. Koz, who won the Modified track championship at Limaland in 2015, is eager to continue racing.

“It’s been a bit of a struggle so far this season,” Koz said. “With the rain canceling a handful of times it’s been hard to get into a rhythm. We have had a few top five finishes so far though.”

Kozis currently in ninth place in the Modified standings. With four races left on the schedule at Limaland, Koz is hoping to finish strong.

“We want to try to be consistent and put it in the top five,” Koz said. “We want to have good runs and be fast every time.”

Racing at Limaland since 2010 and competing for 14 years total, Koz enjoys racing every Friday at Limaland.

“Limaland is a great hometown atmosphere,” Koz said. “It’s a great race track. They provide great racing services. The facilities are top notch and there are a lot of fans around our area.”

Limaland is also known to be one of the toughest tracks to compete in because of the talented drivers.

“The competition in the Modified division is tough,” Koz said. “You have to work hard. Most out there are working hard. I actually started racing in the Stocks for four or five years. We accomplished everything that we wanted to accomplish so we jumped to Modifieds.

You have to make sure your stuff is right. If you’re not good, you’re not good. You always have to bring your ‘A’ game. We want something to show for it. It’s a tough deal.”

With all of his career accomplishments, Koz is thankful to have a great surrounding cast.

“I have to first and foremost thank Jared and Wendy Bennett, the owners of Elite Builders,” Koz said. “They provide us with top notch equipment. I also want to thank some of my other sponsors: Wide Open Graphics, Rental Mart, Dr. Frank Fumich, Hume Supply, Calco Industries, National Auto & Salvage, 3G Customs, Omnisource, Fidelity Builder Supply, Olsen Concrete and Orick Stamping.”
