LIMA — Competing in the boys 16-18 division, Erin Mulcahy defeated Ethan Harmon in a playoff for first place Thursday after each shot a 1-over-par 73 at the Lima Junior Golf Association — McDonald’s Junior Series Lost Creek Golf Club Open.
Mulcahy along with sister Mary Kelly are competing in the boys division this year after being part of Lima Central Catholic girls Division II state championship team in 2018. Alivia Koenig defeated Ellen Naumann for the girls 16-18 crown after each shot 78.
Cole Koenig was the boys 14-15 champ with an 83, four strokes ahead of runner-up Lane McPherson.
In the nine-hole competition, Louis Magoto was the boys 12-13 victor with a 44 followed by Connor Nartker (48). Madison Sams defeated Kasey Nelson for the girls 15 and younger title after each had a 63.
The series is off next week with the next event scheduled for July 9 at Hickory Sticks Golf Club in Van Wert. Head to limajuniorgolf.org for more information.
