Roundup: Weather shortens Lima Junior Golf Association tournament

CELINA — Inclement weather forced all divisions in Thursday’s Lima Junior Golf Association — McDonald’s Junior Series Superior Credit Union Open to nine holes at the par 36 Celina Lynx Golf Club.

Bryce Cobb had the low round of the day with a 40 in winning the boys 16-18 title. Adam Ballas and Ethan Harmon were one shot back with Ballas awarded second using a scorecard playoff.

Emma Mayers won the girls 16-18 crown. Jalyn Bruns was the playoff winner for second against Kenadie Daeger after each shot 44.

Andrew Moore (boys 14-15) and Louis Magoto (boys 12-13) won their respective divisions after each shooting 46.

Cole Koenig (48) was second in the boys 14-15 competition and Collins Feathers (49) was runner-up among boys 12-13. Haylee Wurm shot a 54 for the girls 15 and younger victory with Elle Gable (70) finishing second.

The next LJGA event is scheduled for Tuesday at Springbrook Golf Club. For more information go to limajuniorgolf.org.

Locos rained out

LIMA — The Lima Locos and Galion Graders were rained out Thursday. The Locos are scheduled to play Michigan at 7:05 Friday night at Simmons Field.
