Roundup: LCC’s Kill leaving athletic director post, will again teach theology

LIMA — Lima Central Catholic High School has announced Athletic Director Frank Kill will return to his role as a theology teacher beginning with the 2019-20 school year. He will continue to be the boys varsity basketball coach and join Stephanie Watkins as an assistant athletic director.

Finance Administrator and Head Varsity Baseball Coach John Schnieders will become the athletic director beginning July 1.

Ottawa-Glandorf’s Wagner throws 1-hitter

MILLER CITY — Winning pitcher Dylan Wagner allowed one hit and four walks while striking out 10 in throwing a complete game as Ottawa-Glandorf defeated Miller City 7-0 in ACME baseball Wednesday night.

Grant Hovest had a pair of doubles, a base hit and four RBI and Carter Schimmoeller had a hit and an RBI.

Locos game halted

GALION — Rain stopped the Lima Locos’ Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League game Wedneday night against the host Graders in the third inning tied at 3. The game will resume at 5 p.m. today at Simmons Field followed by the game already scheduled.
