FINDLAY — Columbus Grove won the boys team title Saturday at the Division III district held at the Cooper Tire Track and Field Complex.
The Bulldogs finished with 84 points with Liberty-Benton (74.5), Bluffton (73), Pandora-Gilboa (67) and Van Buren (55) rounding out the top five.
Grove’s Caleb Stechschulte won the 1,600-meter run and he was joined by Jordan Bellman, Carson Closson and Breece Pingle in winning the 3,200 relay. CG’s Jon Banal was first in the 110 hurdles.
Bluffton’s Xavier Dunifon (300 hurdles) and Jackson Steinmetz (3,200), Pandora-Gilboa’s Bryce Basinger (long jump), Ada’s Noah Mattson (shot put), Upper Scioto Valley’s Brady Hipsher (800) and Cory Rawson’s Hunter Rader (high jump) each won an individual event.
Dunifon, Jonathon Shriner, Luke Young and Baylor Garmatter won the 1,600 relay. The Cory-Rawson 800 relay team of Patrick Dearwester, Deontae Davis, Zakk Stiles and Hunter Bixler finished first.
In the girls competition, Liberty-Benton (138) was the team champion with Grove (108) finishing second.
Grove’s Rylee Sybert won the 100 and 200 and joined Savanah Ridenour, Amy Vorst and Becca Choi in finishing first in the 400 relay. CG’s Alyssa Ellerbrock won the 1,600 and the 3,200.
The top four in each event advanced to the regional at Heidelberg University in Tiffin.
Division II district
BOWLING GREEN — Carter and Colin Welch advanced to the doubles championship match with a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 victory against Wauseon’s Tristan Uribes and Sam Frank at Bowling Green State University. The Welches then fell 6-1, 6-1 to Lexington’s Benton Drake and Blake Webster. The Welches advance to play in the state tournament which begins Friday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.
PAULDING — Grant Hovest knocked in Trevor Schimmoeller in the top of the seventh to give O-G the lead for good and advance the Titans to a district semfinal matchup against Liberty-Benton at 4:15 p.m. Thursday at Elida.
Winning pitcher Jaxon Buddlemeyer allowed three hits and four walks while striking out four in a seven-inning complete game. Hovest and Schimmoeller had two hits along with teammate Jacob Balbaugh. Evan Edwards had a triple and a single for Paulding.

Lima Senior 5
FREMONT — The hosts scored twice in their final at bat to earn the victory. Brayden O’Dell had three hits, including a home run, and two RBI, Caleb Dugan had a double and a single and Ethan Jordan had a hit and an RBI for Lima Senior.
Vandalia Butler 11,
COLDWATER — Noah Miller hit a home run and had two RBI, Zack McKibben had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, and Miles Blasingame and Cole Frilling each had a hit and an RBI for the host Cavaliers.
Lima Senior 21, Findlay 3
LIMA — Lima Senior wrapped up its season Fridaywith Deavan Scott scoring a school-record seven goals. Also scoring multiple goals for the Spartans were Allen Madlock (five), Ishmeal Curtis (four) and Josh Keys (two). Kyshawn Newell, Dennis Williams and De’anthony Walker had a goal each for Lima Senior (8-11-1). Newell, Scott, Aaron Bowsher and Madlock all picked up assists.
