WAYNESFIELD — The Perry boys secured the team crown Saturday at the Northwest Central Conference Track and Field Championships.
The Commodores finished had 125 total points with Hardin Northern (103) and Waynesfield-Goshen (81) also finishing in the top three.
Perry’s Dyonte Parker won the 110 and 300 hurdles and teammates Devares Glenn (100) and Braden Yingst (1,600) also won individual events. Parker joined J.Q. Austin, Marquis Shorter and Malik Waters in winning the 800 relay. Glenn, Austin, Andre Clavell and Waters were first in the 400 relay and Glenn, Ethan Shurelds, Shorter and Waters triumphed in the 1,600 relay.
Hardin Northern’s Owen Wetherill (400 and high jump) and Upper Scioto Valley’s Brady Hipsher (800 and long jump) each won two individual events. Hardin Northern’s Frank McCoy (200), USV’s Korwin Kurtz (pole vault) and W-G’s Austin Birt (discus) each won an individual event. Javier DeLeon, Alec Spangler, Kort Sutherland and Alan Hatfield teamed up to win the 3,200 relay for W-G.
Lehman Catholic (166 points) was the girls champ, winning 10 events. Elgin (89) was second and Waynesfield-Goshen finished third.
Ridgemont’s Amanda Howland won the pole vault and discus and the W-G 1,600 relay team of Megan Barden, Rylie Barrington, Kyleigh Bigelow and Kiara Roof finished first.
