BLUFFTON — Libby Schaadt (12-1) allowed no hits or walks while striking out 11 in throwing a perfect five-inning game for the host Pirates in a 10-0 high school softball victory Thursday night against Spencerville.

Riley Busch had a double, a single and four RBI, Katie Prater had a hit and three stolen bases also for Bluffton (14-1, 5-0 Northwest Conference).

Coldwater 0

COLDWATER — Winning pitcher Jackie Homan allowed five hits and no walks while striking out three in seven innings. Chloey Grissez had four hits and three RBI, Breana Homan had three hits and two RBI and Rachel Thien had three hits also for the visiting Indians.

Allen East 11,

Lincolnview 1

HARROD — Winning pitcher Olivia Lawrence improved to 7-1 on the season. Lakin Basham homered, Alivia Craig doubled twice and Summer McCluskey doubled also for Allen East. Destiny Coil and Andi Webb each doubled for Lincolnview.

RAWSON — Zoey Curtis had four hits and two RBI, Ashton Dye ahd three hits and an RBI, Brenna Flowers had two hits and three RBI, Audrey Grindell had two hits and two RBI and Haylie Spearman and Peyton Pore each had two hits and an RBI for Hardin Northern. Riley Garmatter had a hit and an RBI for Cory-Rawson.

MOUNT VICTORY — Cassidy Knapp had two triples and three RBI for Ridgemont.

DELPHOS — Leigha Egnor had three hits and five RBI, Jaylynn Parrett had a home run, two singles and two RBI, Ashlynn Rice had two hits and two RBI, Haylee Dominique and an RBI and Gabbie Stallbaum had two hits for Paulding. Noel Warnament had a double and two RBI for Jefferson.

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Winning pitcher A Ambroza allowed six hits and two walks while striking out six in six innings. She also had a triple, a single and four RBI. Mackenzie Peterman and Emma Tippie each had two hits and an RBI also for the host Indians. Reagan Prest had two hits for Van Wert.

MCGUFFEY — Rylee Shepherd had three hits and an RBI, Emma Hunsicker had two hits and Jozlynn Ross had a hit and two RBI for USV.

ADA — Winning pitcher Kali Small and Avery McCoy allowed five hits and a walk while striking out four in five innings. Small also had four hits, including a triple, and two RBI and McCoy had a pair of hits. Alexis Gregory homered, had a double and two RBI, Codi Miller had three hits and three RBI, Aleigh Chesbro had two hits and three RBI and Caitlin O’Hagan had two hits and an RBI also for the Knights. Raina England had two hits for Ada.

CELINA — Celina’s Katelyn Yoder had a three-run homer and K Frederick had three hits, including a home run, and two RBI for O-G.

DELPHOS — Luke Reindel allowed no hits or earned runs and three walks while strking eight in seven innings for the host Blue Jays. Winning pitcher Brandon Fleck allowed four hits and three walks while striking out eight in seven innings. Brady Kerner had a double and a single.

ELIDA — Winning pitcher Noah Adcock allowed one hits and two walks while striking out 14 in seven innings. Cooper Talowsky doubled for Wapakoneta.

ST. MARYS — Wyatt Bailey and Carson Fischbach each had two hits and two RBI and Trey Fisher had two hits and an RBI for the host Roughriders. Seth Creamer had three hits and an RBI, Luke Fackler had two hits and two RBI and Hunter LaRue had two hits for the Wildcats.

ROCKFORD — Winning pitcher Breyden Bruns allowed six hits and two walks while striking out five in seven innings. Bruns and Dylan Hughes each had a hit and an RBI.

ADA — Winning pitcher Brant Richardson allowed six hits and two walks while striking out seven in five innings. He also had a double, a triple and four RBI. Trever Sheets had three hits and three RBI, Kole Small and Brody Brecht each had two hits and an RBI and Griffin Painter had two hits also for the Knights.

Brandon Hull had a single and a double for Ada.

MINSTER — Winning pitcher Jack Heitbrink and Jacob Niemeyer combined to allow six hits and four walks while striking out three. Heitbrink also had two hits and two RBI and teammate Jack Olberding had two hits and four RBI. Grant Selby and Zach Bertke each had two hits for New Bremen.

VAN WERT — Winning pitcher Lawson Blackmore allowed two hits and a walk while striking out four in seven innings. He also had a triple, a single and an RBI. Caden Vermillion doubled for Shawnee.

Daylin Pees had two hits and two RBI, Owen Wetherill had two hits, Brady Cramer had two hits and an RBI and Mason Roby had a hit and two RBI for Hardin Northern.

FORT RECOVERY — Winning pitcher Cole Frilling allowed two hits and three walks while striking out one in a game shortened to five innings due to rain. Teammate Josh Hrychko doubled and had an RBI.

NORTH BALTIMORE — Chase Kuhlman had four hits, Eza Deitering had four hits, including a triple, Eli Ellerbrock and Connor Niese each had three hits and TJ Michel and Cole Niese each had two hits for Miller City.

DELPHOS — Jefferson’s Darius Shurelds had a double. Evan Edwards had three hits and Blake McGarvey had two hits and two RBI for Paulding.

CONTINENTAL — Blake Elkins had three hits and two RBI, Cole Bowers had two hits and three RBI and Brady Dockery had two hits and two stolen bases for Continental. Dylan Kemper had three hits and Josh Thorbahn had two htis and two RBI for Ottoville.

NEW KNOXVILLE — Winning pitcher Marc Siefring and Andrew Lange combined to allow no hits and a walk while striking out 11 in the five inning affair.

St. Marys brings

back Hegemier

ST. MARYS – Dan Hegemier is returning to guide the St. Marys varsity boys basketball program after the St. Marys Board of Education approved his hiring at their meeting Wednesday according to the St. Marys Evening Leader.

Hegemier, who coached the Roughriders from 2009 to 2015, replaces Craig Szymczak who resigned last month. Szymczak posted a 26-55 record in his four years at the helm. Hegemier was 58-78 in his six years at St. Marys.

A Ohio High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame selection with a lifetime record of 524-248, Hegemier has won 14 league titles, 16 sectionals, 11 districts, four regionals, and three state championships – 1987, 1993, and 2008.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Four boys and four girls have been named to the rosters for the Nancy Rehm Border Wars games April 28 at the University of Saint Francis.

Kenton’s Jaron Sharp, Ottawa-Glandorf’s Owen Hiegel, Crestview’s Javin Etzler and St. Henry’s Caden Niekamp will be joined by other players from Ohio to take on an team made up of players from Indiana.

Ottawa-Glandorf’s Erin Kaufman and Ashley Schroeder, Columbus Grove’s Rylee Sybert and St. Henry’s Danielle Lange will be on the Buckeye girls team.
