Elida duo combines to no-hit Ayersville

Baseball

Elida 11, Ayersville 1

Elida Jordan Davis and Noah Adcock combined for a no-hitter. Davis went four and two thirds while fanning 11 and walking four. Adcock finished the final one-third inning and struck out one. Adcock went 4 for 4 with a home run and a double while driving in three runs and scoring four times. Davis was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Shawnee 7, New Bremen 6

Shawnee’s Jake Hutchins, (1 for 3), AJ Brown (2 for 4) and Jarin Bertke (3 for 4) all drove in two runs. New Bremen’s Grant Selby went 2 for 3.

Allen East 4, Ada 3

ADA — Allen East’s Jordan Motter went 2 for 4 with a run scored and Nathan Ketchum and Carter Frey each drove in a run. Evan Shafer picked up the win in relief. For Ada at the plate, Zac Swaney, Phillip Coulson, Brandon Hull, Connor Frazier and Austin Amburgy all had hits for the Bulldogs.

St. Henry 3, St. Marys 3,

ST. HENRY — St. Henry starter Jackson Heath pitched five and two-thirds innings and gave up no runs on four hits while fanning five and walking none. Offensively for the Redskins, Sm Lefeld went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Jay Knapke and Ethan Thieman each went 1 for 3 with an RBI. For St. Marys, Trey Fisher had two doubles, scored a run and drove in a run and Dylan Trogdlon had two hits and scored a run.

Kalida 18, Delphos St. John’s 7

DELPHOS — Kalida’s Matt Kehres picked up his first win of the season after throwing three and two-third innings while giving up no runs and four hits in a relief performance. Kehres struck out four and walked three. Offensively for Kalida, Trevor Lambert had a double and drove in three runs and Owen Recker, Ayden Warnecke, Matt Kehres, Gabe Hovest: 2 RBI each. For Delphos St. John’s, Adam Gerker and Curtis Mueller each went 2 for 3 and Trent Lindeman drove in two runs.

Delphos Jefferson 8, Ottoville 2

DELPHOS — Delphos Jefferson pitcher Logan Gallmeier gave up one run and one hit over five innings of work while striking out four and walking none. Jefferson’s Elia Lucas was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI and one run.

Whitmer 9, Lima Senior

LIMA — Lima Senior’s Brice Binkley went 2 for 3 with a double while scoring a run and driving in a run. Other Spartans with hits were Adrian Bowsher, Brayden O’Dell, D’Ontre Cowan and Reece Waithe.

Lincolnview 8, Spencerville 3

SPENCERVILLE — Lincolnview’s Gavin Carter picked up the win by going 3 and one-third innings while yielding one run on two hits. Offensively for the Lancers, Landon Price had a double and Zach Ringwald had a double for Spencerville.

Fairview 3, Van Wert 1

SHERWOOD — Van Wert got hits from Hayden Maples, TJ Reynolds, Keaton Brown and Jalen McCracken.

Softball

Allen East 20, Ada 7

ADA — Allen East’s Olivia Lawrence, Lakin Basham, Summer McCluskey and Alivia Craig all hit home runs. Gracie Young added a double. Lawrence improved to 4-o on the mound for the season. Allen East improves to 6-1. For Ada, Alexis Ennis and Brianna George each had a double.

Paulding 8, Columbus Grove 7

PAULDING — Paulding’s Haylee Dominque picked up the win after giving up 11 hits and seven runs while walking one and striking out seven. At the plate, Paulding’s Leigha Egnor went 2 for 2 with a run scored and Haylee Dominque was 2 for 4 with a single and a double and one run scored. Asia Arellano went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBI and Morgan Iler was 1 for 2 with two RBI and one run scored. For Columbus Grove, Angel Schneider was 3 for 4 with four RBI and Joy Stechschulte was 2 for 4 with an run and an RBI.

Coldwater 2, Wapakoneta 0

COLDWATER — Coldwater’s Maddie Stienke threw a shutout after surrendering no runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Daum took the loss for Wapakoneta. She allowed five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Grace Stammen, Leanne Klenke, Maddie Sheffer, Macy Sheffer, and Molly Stienke each collected one hit to lead Coldwater Cavaliers Varsity. Wapakoneta’s Alex Daum went 2 for 4 and Tianna Thompson and Alyssa Camper each had a hit.

Ft. Recovery 12, St. Marys 2

FORT RECOVERY — Fort Recovery’s Jackie Homan went 4 for 4 with two doubles while scoring twice and driving in one run. Lydia Wenning had a triple while going 3 for 4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Macy Day went 2 for 3 with two runs and one RBI. Hannah Knapke went 2 for 3 with a double and triple while driving in a run and Brenna Homan was 2 for 4. For St. Marys, Kyley Tennant, Karsyn McGlothen, Krista Prater and Baylie Kreischer all had hits.

Miller City 7, Ottawa-Glandorf 2

MILLER CITY — Miller City’s Maddie Otto picked up the win on the mound. Miller City’s Abby Niese had a single and Tessa Oedu had hits. For Ottawa-Glandorf, Erica Annesser had a double along with an RBI and a stolen base and Jayla Balbaugh had two hits and a stolen base.

O-G slips to 1-4 and Miller City evens its record at 2-2.

Antwerp 14, Kalida 0

ANTWERP — Kalida’s Sami Backus had the lone hit for Kalida.

Ridgemont 12, USV 7

RIDGEMONT — Callie Cromer led Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. Cromer had two triples and a double.

Ridgemont’s Cassidy Knapp earned the victory after allowing 11 hits and seven runs over five innings and striking out one. Whitney Bailey threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity tallied 18 hits. Emma Smith, Cromer, Knapp, Nikki Freshcorn, Brooke Nelson, Jackie Ramsey, and Howland each had multiple hits for Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity.

Upper Scioto Valley tallied 13 hits in the game. Graesan Evans, Avery Sanders, and Haylie Martin all collected multiple hits for Upper Scioto Valley. Evans went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Upper Scioto Valley in hits

Leipsic 23, Cory-Rawson 4

MT. CORY — Leipsic’s Jala Hazelton went 4 for 4 with two RBI and four runs scored and Kacey Dulle went 2 for 2 with two runs and two RBI. Maddie Walther was 2 for 3 with three RBI and Bailee Sickmiller was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and Liz Scheckelhoff was 3 for 3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Caiden Flick was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and one RBI. On the mound Jocelyn Hermiller pitched four innings and gave up four runs while striking out seven. Sickmiller pitched one inning and struck out two.

Ottawa-Glandorf 5, Napoleon 0

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf got singles wins from Carter Welch, Parker Schomaeker and Colin Welch and doubles wins from the duo of Drew Kuhlman and Kamron Maag and the pair of Nolan Unterbrink and Sam Schmenk.

Van Wert 5, Bluffton 0

VAN WERT — Van Wert got singles wins from Michael Hellman, Nick Carter and Jace Fast and doubles winsf rom the team of Micah Rager and Cody Gamble and the duo of Sam Moonshower and Brendan Browning. Van Wert improves to 5-2 overall.

Shawnee 5, Piqua 0

Shawnee got singles win from Carter Schaaf, Chris Paysen and Gabriel Rutter and doubles wins from the team of Hannes Scutt and Tate Stewart and the duo of Garrett DeMoss and Brayden Ward who won by forfeit. Shawnee improves to 4-3 overall.

Ada 4, Lima Central Catholic 1

ADA — Ada got singles wins from Cade Mullins, Isaac Spar and Miranda Wills and a doubles victory from the team of Gave Hasan and Dexter Woods. LCC’s lone win came from the doubles team of Hayden Bader and Drew Hubbard. Ada improves to 6-2 and LCC falls to 2-5.

Bryan swept Bath in singles and doubles action.
