Lima: The Allen County Archers are holding open 3-D shoots the first Saturday and Sunday each month from March through September. They are open to all archery equipment.

Lima: The Lima Diamondbacks 18U travel team has a few positions available for the 2019 summer season. This team is for this year’s high school seniors and juniors and will play a competitive tournament schedule. The team will practice during the winter in the FAST facility in Lima. Lima: Hitting League Registration now open. Apex Sports Zone will be holding Machine Pitch Hitting Leagues for both baseball and softball. Four-player teams will compete in a six-week season including five league games and one postseason game. Games are five innings long in Apex’s professional, turfed cages. Delphos: The 10th annual Nathan Miller Memorial Baseball Tournament will be May 31 through June 2 at the Delphos Stadium Park. The tournament is a 16-20 team tournament for boys age 11-12 years old (age cutoff is March 1). The tournament will be pool play with a three-game guarantee. Ada: The second annual Ada Boys Basketball Youth tournament for third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades will be held at Ada High School. Delphos: The 14th annual Wildcat third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade tournament will be held from Friday, March 8, to Sunday, March 10, at Delphos Jefferson Schools. This is for boys teams. There will be separate divisions for each grade level. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of three games. Entry fee for this event is $125. Putnam County: The Battle of the Banks, First Responders, Service Clubs and Schools will take place Saturday at Ottawa Highland Lanes. There will be a full shift of First Responders at noon, while schools and some community teams are slated for 1:30 p.m. and the five banks and three service clubs are at 3 p.m.
Each of the battle groups have a buy in amount for the event, then any additional money raised by each participating team will be added to its total bowling score with four people. The group in each event with the largest grand total will be awarded a traveling trophy/plaque or banner for the next year to display in its lobby, station or meeting room.

Lima: The Lima YMCA is holding registrations for the Youth Flag Football League for 6 to 8 year olds (coed) through March 22. The fee is $25 for members and $50 for non league members.
The Lima YMCA is holding a preschool and youth gymnastics program for boys and girls ages 18 months and older. Classes have started. The fee is $20 for member and$40 for non members.
The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn hole leagues are forming. Ottoville: The Ottoville Mother’s Club will be playing host to its 10th annual 5K Ottoville Big Green Boost Up. Proceeds to help Ottoville students with individual educational needs. Columbus Grove: The 41st annual BBO road race will be held in Columbus Grove on Saturday, March 9. The race will begin at 2 p.m. in downtown Columbus Grove and will be four miles long through town and out into the country and back, all on paved roads. Registration the day of the race will begin at noon and will take place in Columbus Grove’s high school gymnasium. An awards ceremony will be held there as well, following the race. There will be many awards given as there are many age groups for both male and female participants. Each runner will receive a coupon for one bowl of “hobo stew” and t-shirts are available for purchase while supplies last. Door prizes will be given away shortly after the race.
