Roundup: Ottoville defeats D-III No. 2 Liberty-Benton in girls basketball

FINDLAY — Nicole Knippen got a rebound and then connected on a pair of free throws in the final seconds to give Ottoville a 54-53 girls high school basketball victory Tuesday night against previously unbeaten and Division III No. 2-ranked Liberty-Benton (20-1.

Nippen finished with 17 points and Haley Hoersten scored 13 also for the Big Green (19-3).

Columbus Grove 51,

Delphos Jefferson 27

COLUMBUS GROVE — The host Bulldogs improved to 15-5 overall and 6-1 in the Northwest Conference with a 51-27 girls high school basketball victory Tuesday night against Delphos Jefferson.

Rylee Sybert had 22 points and Kenzie King and Amy Vorst each scored eight for Grove. Addy Stewart had 10 points and Delaney Deuel scored six for Jefferson (7-13, 2-5 NWC).

State poll

Division III Ottawa-Glandorf came in fifth in the final Associated Press poll of the season. In Division IV, Minster and Ottoville were second and sixth respectively.

Upper Scioto Valley 35

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Aaliyah Fowler had 15 points and five steals, Grace O’Connor had nine points and eight assists,

Allie Bone had 10 points and five rebounds and Tessa Jordan and Mack Peterman had 11 and 10 points respectively for the the host Indians (4-15). Bri Hurley had 11 points, Allison Moore had eight points and six rebounds and Hailey Martin scored eight for USV.

Coldwater 63, Elida 40

COLDWATER — Lauren Gilliland had 23 points, 11 rebounds and five steals and Alli May scored 19 and had four steals and kate Leichty contributed six assists for the host Cavaliers (11-10). Amira Freeman had 17 points and Cienna Kuhn scored eight for the Bulldogs (7-14).

Delphos St. John’s 51,

VAN BUREN — Betty Vorst had 20 points and Paige Gaynier scored 10 for St. John’s (14-7).

Bluffton 47,

Pandora-Gilboa 29

BLUFFTON — Libby Schaadt had 13 points and Averey Rumer scored nine for Bluffton (16-5). Lacie Fenstermaker, Becca Luttfring and Regan Russell each scored nine for P-G (3-17).

New Bremen 48, Botkins 35

NEW BREMEN — Erin Smith had 10 points and Abbi Thieman scored nine for the host Cardinals (14-7). Taira Greve had seven points for Botkins (10-12).

Fort Recovery 35, Celina 22

CELINA — Alli Vaughn had 13 points and Olivia Patch scored nine for the visiting Indians (10-11). Makenna Klingshirn had eight points and Brooke Robbins scored seven for the Bulldogs (5-16).

Spencerville 50, Parkway 25

ROCKFORD — Stephanie Schaff had six points for Parkway (3-18). No individual stats were reported for Spencerville (16-4).

Hardin Northern 39, Calvary Christian 16

DOLA — Maddie Crappy had 16 points and Aliya Obenour scored seven for Hardin Northern (7-14).

Fort Loramie 68, Marion Local 50

Heidi Rethman had 15 points and Kelsey Koenig scored 11 for Marion Local (10-11).

Miller City 28

Louis Hoersten had 13 points and Chazz Jackson, Jamal Whiteside and Ryan Yingst each scored 10 for Perry. Isaac Fillinger had eight points and Austin Ruhe scored seven for Miller City.

Wayne Trace 60,

Fort Jennings 39

HAVILAND — Carson Kazee had 10 points and Evan Hoersten scored nine for Fort Jennings.
