Roundup: Delphos St. John’s defeats Bath in girls basketball

BATH TOWNSHIP — Betty Vorst had 13 points and three steals and Aubrie Friemoth scored 12 and Melanie Loenig had a dozen points and seven rebounds as Delphos St. John’s (10-5) defeated Bath 59-38 Tuesday night in girls high school basketball.

Kaleigh Ketcham had nine points, Tori Dackin scored eight and Dasia Hardison contributed six rebounds for the host Wildkittens (7-8)

COLUMBUS — Division III Ottawa-Glandorf is at No. 4 in the latest Associated Press poll of sports writers and broadcasters. Minster is ranked second and Ottoville is 10th in D-IV.

MARIA STEIN — Lauren Cisco had 21 points and Elena Menker and Noelle Ruane scored eight each for the visiting Roughriders (7-8). Natalie Lethman and Heidi Rethman each had nine points for the Flyers (7-8).

NEW KNOXVILLE — Megan Jurosic had 16 points and Ellie Gabel scored 10 for the host Rangers (11-5). Casey Minng had five points for the Redskins (8-7).

DOLA — Maddie Grappy had 21 points and Quinn Stewart-Evans scored 12 for Hardin Northern (4-11) against Mansfield Temple Christian.

Coldwater 37,

Spencerville 33 (OT)

COLDWATER — Spencerville was able to tie the game at 24 at the end of the third quarter after trailing 20-17 at halftime. Each teams scored seven points in the fourth period before Coldwater earned the overtime victory.

Lauren Gilliland had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Kate Leichty scored 10 and had five rebounds and Alli May contributed 10 points and five rebounds for Coldwater (8-7). Individual stats for Spencerville (10-4) were not reported by deadline.

Continental 37, Antwerp 27

CONTINENTAL — Alex Hoeffel had nine points and Addy Armey, Kerri Prowant and Catelyn Etter each scored seven for Continental (3-11).

Lincolnview 39, Parkway 22

ROCKFORD — Brianna Ebel had 16 points and Annie Mendenhall scored eight for Lincolnview (6-10). Claire Eichler had eight points and Rachel Barrett scored seven for Parkway (2-12).

DELPHOS — Aly Lindeman had 12 points and Kaylee Buzard scored seven for Jefferson (6-10).

Boys basketball

ST. HENRY — The Redskins (10-3) outscored the Roughriders (3-7) 15-10 in the fourth quarter to earn the victory. Zach Niekamp had 15 points and Caden Niekamp scored 14 for St. Henry. Braeden Dunlap and Ethan Steger each scored 16 for St. Marys.

LIMA — Brody Bowman had 29 points, Dawson Draper scored 20 and Dakota Clay had 10 points and 13 rebounds for Temple Christian (6-6).

Bluffton 61,

Patrick Henry 58

BLUFFTON — Mason Soper (19), Luke Deneurer (16), Jared Piercefield (11) and Levi Hohenbrink (10) each scored in double digits for the host Pirates (11-3).

New Bremen 56, Covington 34

COVINGTON — Patrick Wells and 14 points and Nolan Bornhorst scored eight for the visiting Cardinals.

JACKSON CENTER — The Marion Local at Jackson Center JV and varsity games will be played Feb. 11 with the JV game set to start at 6 p.m.
