Girls high school basketball roundup: Kalida tops Wapakoneta

KALIDA — The host Wildcats improved to 8-4 on the season with a 34-23 girls high school basketball victory Saturday against Wapakoneta.

Abby Wurth had 13 points and nine rebounds and Grace Klausing contributed nine points and seven rebounds for Kalida. Makenzie Wilson had seven points and Katie Engle had seven rebounds for the Redskins.

FORT JENNINGS — Paige Gaynier had 11 points a Betty Vorst scored 10 for DSJ. Kristen Luersman had 18 points and Madison Niedert scored nine for the host Musketeers.

Bluffton 44, Elida 25

ELIDA — Katie Prater, Averey Rumer and Kylie Monday had 12 points each for the visiting Pirates. Amira Freeman scored nine for the Bulldogs.

Liberty Benton 53, Fort Recovery 32

FORT RECOVERY — Alli Vaughn had nine points for the host Indians.

Kenton 69, Ada 20

KENTON — The Wildcats held an 18-6 margin at the end of the first period. Sidney Plott led Kenton with 12 points. Miranda Willis scored six for Ada.

Minster 55, Lincolnview 25

MIDDLE POINT — The Wildcats built a 14-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter that grew to 27-15 at halftime.

Janae Hoying had 16 points for Minster, which had 10 players score at least two points each. Brianna Ebel and Sierra Adams had six points each and Lakin Brant contributed nine rebounds for the Lancers, who won the battle of the boards 28-26 and had 18 turnovers compared to three for the Wildcats.

New Knoxville 59, Lehman Catholic 35

NEW KNOXVILLE — The host Rangers went ahead 14-6 at the end of first quarter and held a 32-18 lead at halftime. Megan Jurosic (17), Morgan Leffel (14) and Erin Scott (10) each scored in double digits for New Knoxville.

Arlington 81, Hardin Northern 20

DOLA — Maddie Grappy had nine points and Quinn Stewart-Evans scored six for Hardin Northern (3-8).
