Roundup: Ottawa-Glandorf sets mark for 3-pointers with 16 in win

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf erected a 33-13 bulge after eight minutes of play and finished with a school-record 16 3-pointers against Bath in a 102-48 Western Buckeye League eruption Friday night.

Braden Fortman exploded for 24 points, on six 3s, to lead the Titans (7-1), and got plenty of help from 18 by Ben Westrick (7 3s), Owen Hiegel’s 15 and 14 from Brennan Blevins. Westrick and Ethan White each grabbed eight rebounds.

Leading the Wildcats were eight points each by Cole Porlapiano and Andrew Stahr and seven by Cyrus Burden.

Delphos St. John’s 59, New Knoxville 38

NEW KNOXVILLE — Tyler Ruda (13), Grant Csukker (11) and Lucas Metcalfe (10) each scored in double digits for DSJ.

Elida 73, Celina 60

CELINA — Dante Wheeler exploded for 23 points to lead Elida past Celina in a Western Buckeye League contest.

Max Parker added 18 points and Drew Brockett added 11 for Elida, who shot 28-of-53 from the floor for 52 percent.

Austin Okeley led Celina with 18 points and Brett Schwieterman added 12. They shot 20-of-46 from the field.

Defiance 72, Kenton 54

KENTON — Defiance owned the second period 17-6 and used that to grab a Western Buckeye League win over Kenton.

Tyler Goings led the Bulldogs (5-3, 1-1 WBL) with 21 points to lead a quartet in double figures, backed by 14 from Will Lammers, 12 by DJ Dobson and 10 from Nasir Mitchell.

Pacing the Wildcats (6-2, 0-2 WBL) were Jaron Sharp with 17 points and Jayden Cornell with 16.

Hardin Northern 45,

Monclova Christian Academy 33

MONCLOVA — Hardin Northern outscored Monclova Christian Academy 18-8 in the fourth period to seize a non-league victory.

Lance Good led the Polar Bears with 13 points and Hunter Joliff and Owen Wetherill added nine each.

Lehman Catholic 54,

Waynesfield-Goshen 33

WAYNESFIELD — Lehman Catholic doubled up Waynesfield–Goshen 16-8 and pulled away for the Northwest Central Conference triumph.

Layton Campbell erupted for 27 points and Britton Elliott added four for the Tigers.

Coldwater 65, Parkway 48

COLDWATER — Coldwater controlled the second half 35-18 to blow open a halftime tie and grab a Midwest Athletic Conference victory.

Cole Frilling poured in 26 points to lead the Cavaliers, along with 13 by Noah Miller and 11 by Marcus Bruns. Bruns grabbed eight rebounds to lead that department and added four assists, while Frilling and Ben Wenning led with two steals each.

Jack Wehe was the only Panther in double digits with 10 points and Preston Stober secured nine rebounds. Dylan Hughes and Mason Baxter delivered two assists each and Corey Wells grabbed three steals.

Versailles 49, New Bremen 34

VERSAILLES – Versailles led 11-6 after the first quarter and proceeded on to a Midwest Athletic Conference triumph over New Bremen.

Pacing the Tigers (6-4, 2-1 MAC) were Michael Stammen with 14 points and Ryan Martin with 13.

For the Cardinals (3-4, 1-1 MAC), Nolan Bornhorst was top scorer with 13 points and Patrick Wells added six.

Natalie Koenig led the Wildcats with 22 points and Adrienne Kuhlman added nine.

Minster 78, Fort Recovery 47

FORT RECOVERY — After taking a 21-15 lead after eight minutes of action, Minster kept adding to its lead and pulled away to a Midwest Athlrtic Conference rout of Fort Recovery.

Jarod Schulze, a 6-9 senior, led the scoring with 18 points and added 10 rebounds to lead the Wildcats. He got plenty of aid from Jack Heitbrink with 15 points, Mike Ketner with 14 points and nine assists and Noak Enneking with 11 points. Cody Frericks delivered 12 rebounds and seven assists.

Payton Jutte’s 11 points led the Indians and Grant Knapke added 10. Derek Jutte led the rebounding effort with eight.

Maddie Grappy poured in a game-high 26 points and Quinn Stewart-Evans added 14 for the Polar Bears.

Claire Kaufman led Monclova with three points.
