Crosshairs Lima and the Lima Y are teaming up to host a great even for the community on Jan 27th from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Lima Y. Free for Lima Y members and $5 for non-members. 45 minutes of practice and shooting targets - all ages can join and then 1 hr of play - must be 8 yrs and older for play.
The Lima Diamondbacks 18U travel team has a few positions available for the 2019 summer season. This team is for this year’s high school seniors and juniors and will play a competitive tournament schedule. The team will practice during the winter in the FAST facility in Lima. The sixth annual Wildcat third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade tournament will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, and Sunday, Feb. 24, at Delphos Jefferson Schools. This is for girl steam. There will be separate divisions for each grade level. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of three games. Entry fee for this event is $125. The Lima Area Tennis Association is offering a free middle school program again in 2019. The program will run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Sunday from Jan. 13 until March 3 at Westwood Tennis and Fitness, 3101 W. Elm St. This is the third year this program has been offered to area youth (ages 12-14) in hopes on developing solid tennis skills and interest in joining high school tennis teams. The program includes professional instruction and an organized team tournament. Participants must have tennis shoes. If a participant does not have a racquet, one will be provided.
